Customs Attaching lenses in bumper guard taillights?

For you guys who've built bumper guard taillights, how did you attach the lenses to the guard? Are they mechanically fastened somehow, or did you use silicone or some other adhesive? Thanks.

Good shops like Valley Custom would construct a box in the guard to hold the entire lamp ***'y they built, then re-chrome.

 

I'd never trust glue.
