Attention All Artist

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Shiftymutt, Jan 16, 2006.

  1. The Edelbrock coloring book got me thinking. I would like to make a coloring book for the little Hambsters out there. I have a printer that will help me print it up and make it look nice. I need submissions from your artist types out there.

I have already PM'd some guys that I have dealt with and they are in.

Format will be 8/12x11. black and white.

I will handle the printing and layout work. ( printer will give me a deal)

I am planning on getting them printed and selling them off to help support something like the HAMB drags ( maybe the food) or some other way to give back to the HAMB. the price will depend on how many pictures I get.

You can e-mail the line drawings to me at shiftymutt@yahoo.com. Please post the line drawing you are sending in so we all will know what is out there.

Please put a sticky on this so I don't have to BTTT every morning....:)

    Thanks,
    Shifty

So will you be keeping a profit (after costs) for yourself? Or is it all getting donated (after costs)?

  3. So should we decide what cars we will be drawing so we don't get an entire coloring full of '32 roadsters?

Great idea! Jessica really likes coloring the Edelbrock one... I asked her which car was her favorite, and she had a hard time deciding between a '32 ford and (wait for it...) a '32 ford! :)

    I'd love to see a '53-'56 f-100 go in...

  7. NOPE. I will be giving Ryan or the HAMB all the money after cost...
ANY profit after the cost of printing and shipping will be given back to the HAMB...

Ha ha i thought I was going to get **** for posting the coloring book up. I'm glad you guys like it.

As for drawings, contact Hidden, he does graphic design mostly in black & white. tuck, empire32 and a few others also do these type of drawings.

All you have to do is add them into photoshop and 'invert' the colors.

you need a better format than jpeg for print... even if it is a coloring book.

    what was the format?

Mine were in Adobe Illustrator. I just sent him some 2 mb jpgs. That should be fine for printing.

  16. got em in the new format.

Plan 9- you are right however I can use it to compile the drawing and then get in contact with the artisit for specific pictures once we have enough to fill a book.

I'm in too. Should be fun. Haven't really posted any of my art on the HAMB before but I'll work up a drawing or two for this. Cool idea.

Is it open to both realistic and cartoonish designs? Prefer one over the other?

  23. Anything you want to contribute as long as it is Kid appropriate....

Make sure when you send me stuff that there is some info that I can use to thank you in the book.

Django, the graphics on your '48 Olds line drawing is really nice. Do you have a color version? If so could you e-mail one to me? I would love to use it as a backgound on my computer. I would consider it for my Oldsmobile too with your permisission of course.

    Thanks.
