    Rat- Excellently said!

We have to become firm and p***ionate about this if we want to get anywhere!

We must be upfront and question these monkeys!

These guys don't give a RATS *** about this being our hobby, interest, way of life, business etc.......

We have to fight for this because this is frankly abusing our rights of this country!

Sounds exaggerated, yet, AUSTRALIA is meant to be the country with the most democratic system.

The country with acknowledgment to individuality.

Yet, we are seeing it more and more with this govt of these things changing!

Although all polies are, these guys are basically tight ***es and vote grabbers on behalf of this issue!

We must not fold and let these bastads get this legislation through!

Guys, Hot Rodders cause minimal to ZERO accidents and fatalities!!

Can you guys remember of one of a Cl***ic car in an accident????

We have an excellent reputation but as Rat said, the govt is misinforming and using propaganda to get the majority non-enthusiast public voting for them!!

RAT- Your last point about VicRoads being a private company is just astonishing to me for all the wrong reasons!!

    That is just ridiculous!!!

So..... Whats the next step guys???

No use sitting here talking about it!

    HC.

rat and hey charger, well said.hey charger, you asked about what's next.as mentioned previouly an umbrella group representing all forms of modified vehicles is,in my opinion a must.this group must also represent importers, aftermarket retailers(big and small)and those with vested interests.
so what follows now?.a small scale meeting to thrash out some ideas and an attack plan,i'm not to sure but i see the time is ripe for us to stop tapping away on a key board and get moving on this.
    cheers,thommo.

Another major thing that you all should take into account ,is this little gem of suedo intellectualism .There are paid boffins in ****canberra who troll through all pe***ions submitted .If one person on that pe***ion is not on the electoral roll , then the whole sheet is invalid !!!

An internet pe***ion is probably not worth its weight in **** anyway. But it is a good indicator to us, the modified car community, of how much support we could muster if we were organised.

Elvis is organising an info day on this ****. I've quoted him below.

"I am letting you all know I spoke to kim this morning in witch kim agreed a registration information day is need so the ASRF has organised to use the regency ramblers club house on the 14th august 10am at the cnr Badgerys Creek Rd and Elizabeth Drive Badgerys Creek.

Everyone is invited ASRF Member or not the intent of the day is to bring everyone up to date with all registration matters.

    ELVIS"

But like Retroline said, there are a lot of modified cars that are not represented by the ASRF.
My car is not represented by the ASRF for instance....

We need a suitable public figure to "act" as a leader in some media efforts. I'd do it myself except that to Joe Public, who the **** am I? Too bad Renee Rivkin's not around anymore. But there must be some other 'famous' modified car people.

    Anyone care to nominate?

Also there is this that I have quoted from another forum. A very good idea.

"Send the is bloke an email and ask him why the RTA is so intent on disturbing our lives.

John Robertson NSW Minister for Transport

    office@robertson.minister.nsw.gov.au

Dont be abusive because he will probably just delete your email and, in reality, probably doesnt even know half of whats going on.
Remind him that you drive old cars and, more importantly, you VOTE."

  6. I'm just starting on a "A on 32 rails" for a mate who's up in Brizzy . I'll forward this to him , and get him to join the HAMB . He's also in contact with a lot of ex-pat Kiwi's over there and into the scene .

If he's in Brizzy, that's in a different state, so the subject of this thread doesn't apply to him. But it doesn't hurt to p*** it on.

Vic Roads & the RTA are statutory authorities... "an Australian body which has the right to enact legislation for specific areas of the law"
    they are not private companies.

still...it doesn't make their descisions right though...

its time all motoring groups got legal representation..

gone are the days when a couple of ASRF reps in thongs & a club jacket can turn up at the RTA & negotiate on our behalf..it just doesn't work that way any more..the RTA seek legal advice on all their descisions & unless we do the same we are doomed from the outset.

we need dedicated professional legal representation.. nothing less..
& it means we will have to pay for it.

but.. don't worry its all a storm in a teacup...the ASRF will save us

  10. Deuce....old thread but just saw your response.

Most Aussies have been hoodwinked by too many lies/propaganda re common law rights and as to who can actually do what about regulating your activities legally.

Sheep follow other sheep, critical thinking is dead.

Re a representative body, take a look.
