What is a sweet modern car for a daily driver? I love 50's metal, especially customs, like my 53 Chevy, but my wife refuses to let me get another one for a daily!

I have been eyeing up late model cadillacs, what do you Kustom guys think of modern caddys? Anybody drive one, got some pics?

    Thanks kids.

Yes, very weird indeed, but I love my girl's new '08 Pontiac G6. Beats the hell out of my Ford on the highway. I like the new Cadillacs, I'd love to own a CTS. But a pickup is definitely a great thing to have. They are turning into luxury cars with beds and a 12K pound tow capacity.

  4. I drive a 93 caprice station wagon (ex-prisoner transport unit). I love it. Cold A/C, hot heater, decent mileage, plenty of power, enough storage to take the family on a week long vacation with room for the souvenirs.

I love the 91 to 96 Caprice wagons. Had three of them. Lowered, tinted, nice tunes, loved them.[IMG]
Here's the last one I owned. My son put some stupid 22" wheels on it,before I sold it.

I know a fellow HAMBER who recently bought an end-of-model year fullsize Chevy 1/2 ton for $15K. Now I call that a bargain.

Ford Police Interceptors have a cool "down-to-business" vibe.

Based on the ***le, opening this thread and seeing animal **** would have made more sense than this.

How does this question not make sense?

I love cl***ic custom cars (like my 53 chevy) but have two kids and a wife who says one cl***ic is enough. So I am looking for a pimp daily driver ride that is newer (2003 and up) and have been looking at newer cadillacs.

    Does that explain it better?

My '57 makes a decent daily, though I opt to not drive it as my primary vehicle. Very reliable, but ****s gas down like I have an Iraqi oil field in my back yard. It's seriously the thirstiest car I've ever seen.

I dig the hell out of my Mustang. Loud, quick, good mileage and reliable. Handles OK in the snow too (with street tires and 3 sets of SBC cylinder heads in the trunk for ballast)

Bought the wife a Dodge magnum. She loves it. Plus she lets me throw parts and stuff in there all the time. Lots and lots of cargo room.

  14. okay Johhny Chach, the only time new caddilacs were cool was in 1955 when the new 56 model came out. My daily driver is a 55 pontiac, hauled familys around in 55, and can still haul families around today. I'm pretty sure in 1953 chevy's were capable of hauling famileis around too.
Maybe you should trade your wife in on a newer model and drive what's cool.

But if I traded in my wife I would lose out on her sweet ***! And I think modern caddys are nice as hell, and what does a dude from Canada know anyway? J/K

I could drive any thing I don't use heat in the winter so it don't matter jacks my eyes up

I drive a full size Chevy 1500 extended cab pick up. And I have to say that I will probebly never let it go. I'm sure some people have different opinions because they are loyal to a different brand or got a lemon, or whatever. All I have to say is that I have fun driving my truck. I got a 350 so when something breaks, parts are always there and dirt cheaper. Longer than a cars wheel base, so more comfortable. And very utilitarian.I've gone all over with it and have hauled home three 26/27 T's home without a trailor. Model A stuff too. Countless flatheads and other engines. And I pulled a 49 ford sedan 900 something miles too. Newer trucks now days are actually getting better gas milage than trucks from the 90's and look pretty handsome IMO. Plus they can tow like crazy. I really want to fix up my truck and drive it around when I'm old like some of the guys that did that to cars they had when they were in high school. I'll never buy a car again unless it's a cl***ic American car or a Caddy.
