I did not have a good experience with service with Jimmy, though I will put up with a certain amount of delays, no call backs, false delivery quotes, etc. However, I got a "really good straight used" stock wheel from them, the outer rim is bent, etc, it is pitted, etc, and he charged me $60 for it. I will not be buying a new set of wheels from them now, they lost a customer in me.

They did a great job for me on some widened wide fives. Good price, good service, great product. I will be looking for a set of wheels for a new proj. soon, and will go to Rally America again.

For those still complaining about time quotes...

Have you ever taken stuff to a chrome shop? Rally America is NOT a chrome shop. They build custom wheels for you and do you the service of taking them to a chrome shop SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO. There's probably not a chrome shop around your area anyway. Rally America is building a custom wheel to your specs for cheap and then having them chromed for you at a more than reasonable price.

Rally America gives a time quote to a customer based on the last set of wheels he got back from the chromer. Let's say its four weeks. You hem and haw for a couple of days shopping around on the innernetz trying to get a better deal. You won't. You call back Rally America and place the order. He builds your custom wheels. During that time, the chromer got a big batch of trim from one of his best customers. Now your wheels are on the back burner and will take twice as long. That's just the way chrome shops work.

Like TexasHardcore said, Rally America's chrome wheels are pieces of art. They are not in the same class as Summit's smoothies or any other vendor I've seen. And Rally America is cheaper. Rally America's wheels are worth the wait. Quality is second to none. The chrome is PERFECTION.

Take your wheels to a local chromer (if there is one) and see what happens. 75% of the time, he'll say no. Of the small percentage of chrome shops that will accept old factory wheels, you'll get them back four times longer than the original time quote, it'll be more 20% more expensive than the original price quote, and you won't be happy with the quality. You'll get excuses about how your wheels were pitted and there was nothing he could do. And you'll be unhappy.

Personally, I don't think I'd have a problem waiting up to four months for the type of quality Rally America puts out. So long as I was kept up to date every so often if it takes longer than quoted.

X2 on that! I've never orderd from wheel kid, but I had heard of his slow turn around times, I orderd from Jason at early wheel, dude was super nice, and I orderd up custom back spaced reverse steelies and had um on my truck in 5 days from ordering um, and he's in Cali, and I'm in Minnesota!! Talk about fast turnaround and shipping!! The best part was the wheels through early wheel were less than if I orderd from summit or jegs!

They only sell Rally wheels and smoothies. The only thing I hate worse than smoothies are rally wheels. Chrome FACTORY steel wheels are few and far between. Just sayin'...

I've ordered two sets of wheels from Jimmy, one set of wires and one set of chrome reverse. Both sets were flawless and shipped to me within a week. I was impressed. And, I'll do business with Rally America again. If someone asks me for a recommendation, I will suggest them, but I'll also mention there have been issues with delays. But the product speaks for itself, and I don't see many dissatisfied customers. Except the guy that wanted to buy an unrestored old wheel and this guy...

You really don't need to post a new novel every other day to justify how pissed off you are. We get it.

I personally deal with Rally America. Jimmyy and Gary have been first rate in my book. They have always taken care of me.
But for some that want to venture out There is Pete. Been around forever and a real good guy also. I know lots of guys that buy wheels from him. Very straight up guy. Been recomeneded a bunch of times. But have personally ever used him.

That's so ambiguous. Does that mean chromed in Mexico or a place called "Mexican Chrome" or is the Mexican Chrome fairy a real fairy? I don't know, Tman? Do I just send my wheels to Mexico and hope they come back to me shiny? :D

I think Brian used a local place called Pulitto's (sp?). But I know he metal preps and prepares most of his parts on his own before he takes them to the chromer.

I had a great experience dealing with Jimmy. Called him twice, he answered twice, was very knowledgeable and helpful about my backspacing needs. Wheels, trim rings and dummy studs were spot on.

I'll use him again (which will probably be soon). Thanks Jimmy!

  18. He made a really nice set for me a while back, took a while, but as mentioned, he's at the mercy of the chrome shop. Hand-made parts, what can you say, that's just the way it is.

    Thanks Jimmy.

If thats the case I've been doing it wrong all along, I didn't know you could order "used" parts. I'm wasting my time going to these damn wrecking yards and swap meets.

Anyone know where I can order a 426 wedge with a cross ram, a 428 cobra jet with 2 4's, a large fry, a chocolate shake and I have a coupon.

The engines are gonna take a bit to find, but I have the used fry, and shake ready now :D.

  23. I'm just about to order a pair of 15x7 reverse chrome steelies for the Hussy. He was pretty promt responding to my emails; I used the email address on their website. The ones he did for the front of the car are so nice I'm willing to wait a reasonable amount of time for a matching pair for the rear. Jimmy told me 2-3 weeks. Todd

  24. You guys gotta remember, this is custom hand made stuff here, no big corporate money involved. We are in a serious bind as a country, everyone's broke as of a couple years ago. I'm not gonna get political, but this***** wasn't happening two years ago(hint hint). Rally America, Reily Automotive, etc. Read the writing on the wall. Think next time you vote.

I bought a pair of painted steelies from Jimmy a year ago. He answered the phone, was very nice, and welded the wheels up, primed them, and shipped them that day. I was amazed.

Yours and Terds pics are really indicative of the quality and workmanship from Rally America.

Gotta ask, aren't you gonna put tires on it or are you gonna drive that way :p ?
