Steve K is a really nice guy. He's our newest customer, and harkens from Road Racing. He wanted to do a father/son project with his boys. They'll be handling the final assembly/wiring/etc.

The body is a virgin '33 Dodge Coupe, chopped 3 1/2", rear wheel houses moved up 2 1/2" and forward 2". Then we repaired the rockers, and made new lower front quarters and lower cowl. Both are slightly modified to carry the lines a bit more in a flowing manner. Enjoy:

  15. I have a '34 cut down to a roadser pickup. That "Victory" looks like a Grant/Spaulding Flamethrower. What are the deails?

I dunno ... I've been told that puttin' a HEMI in a chopped 5wd Coupe is never a good idea! :D

Please keep us updated on your progress.

It is a Spalding. We rebuilt it here in the shop. Our sister company is Victory Speed Equipment. So when we rebuilt an old hiperf dizzy, we put one of our enamel tags on to say where it was done.

*clears throat* looks like you're could use some love. *hint hint*

I thought putting a Hemi in any rod was a good idea!

  21. I just may need to have you rebuild mine when the time comes, looks like you did a nice job. Hows about some more photos of it? Do you have side caps for the Spaulding? One of mine is cracked. I'm told it will work fine, but I'd like to replace it anyway.

  22. that timing cover is nuts! :D

No, we don't. I did hear that the office of "they" were going to make some. But I don't know if anything materialized or not.

I believe the MoPar cars of the '33 & '34 vintage are the best looking, the coupes with their quarter windows and the flowing lines of the sedans (I had a 1934 Dodge DRXX touring sedan). The frames were built like the Eiffel Tower. I may be wrong but the cars felt bigger, like a Dakota pickup vs. an S-10 or Ranger.

The 1933 DP Dodge & the 1933 PD Plymouth had a 112" wheel base (known as short w/base) same as the 34 fords, there were other MoPar's in 33 that were longer (115") too.

Unless I'm incorrect, I think he was talking about how they "feel" bigger inside. And that's because they are. MoPars and Essex/Husdon were all steel, and larger dimension inside than a Ford or Chevy.
