Does anyone ever put anything but original or Auburn dashes in a '32???? It seems like when dealing with that year coupe or roadster there is a tried and true formula for dash's and inserts and rarely does anyone go off the beaten path.

I have a 5" SW tach that I am going to use in my 5W. Any pics of anything different???

Cool tacho Kaydub. Where did you find that, looks like a small Sun tach.

I think the pic just makes it look small. It's an original Sun Tach.

A Walnut or Maple tree? A Prevost bus? A Sea-Ray cabin cruiser? Who knows? Whatever they are, they're ugly as a man's ***. Different though (as requested by JeffreyJames ;)) & eerily similar to what Danny has in his 5wd currently.

This is a stunning cluster. I had one of those panels once. Bought it for $5 & sold it for close to $200 on Ebay. I wish, everytime I see Kaydub's, that I had kept it.

    I had one of those ... :)

It came in my 32 3W ... I sold it to a fellow HAMBER in Australia. Compare the size to the standard SW 160 MPH speedometer and you can see that it is not small.

Back to your original question Danny....

I don't like the way the So-Cal panel comes to a prominent "V" in the bottom center. I like the Knecht or Hot Rod Garage pieces better with a smooth transition through this area.

    So-Cal:

Then you don't like Auburns, because that's the shape a real Auburn has. Those SoCal inserts are probably the closest to the real thing as any repros out there. As stated before, if a guy was to remove the outermost lip, they would be almost a dead ringer.

Yeah, I prefer the Knecht panel to anything available. Kaydub's would be a close second.

I just think a real Auburn panel is too big.... & it has that funky "V" in the bottom.

I prefer the Knecht of all the Auburn style panels. Just looks a bit more "balanced" when mounted in the dash....

...& then you have to put gauges in it!

    It'll be worth it though.

OOh, tiny bit touchy? I wasn't slamming your piece-YOU posted it, making it fair to comment. I was making a suggestion ,and, in case you haven't noticed, the original Auburn dash is engine-turned. As it is, you've got a copper dash, chrome gauge bezels, and switch nuts that appear to be a different finish than the bases around your mounting screws. If you like it,fine,it's your car-but posting a picture makes you eligible for what you might think are positive or negative comments.

As for my dash-it's **** from the guy I bought it from. It does have black on black Faria gauges though and ultimately will go into a twisted cherrywoood dash-but nothing like that Rabbitts stuff already posted.

Last things I made were these studs from hexhead bolts that go in stainless cowl band retainers Not much at all, but the finish matches. Good luck with your car-but if you post pictures, not every HAMBer's going to like it.

Contrast my friend, if everything was the same color and finish it would be quite boring, now wouldn't it?

Actually, when you factor in the price that they already have the gauges ... in them when you buy it ... They are NOT all that terrible ... price wise :)

to me Knecht is a bagain, comes race ready with gauges already installed. when we were picking the parts for 32gals Roadster, the Knecht was an easy choice, looks, price, and he ships promptly.
