*** This Auction has been approved by the administration *** As most of you are aware of by now, Rick lost his wife suddenly last week and as we all know... no one is ever prepared for the aftermath of a sudden death of a spouse. I wanted to do a little more than offer prayers and moral support. I talked to Rick about a auction and at first he was resistant to give his OK for a auction but as we talked we both thought any funds generated could be used for a headstone/grave marker for Sandy. Rick is a valuable member of the Hamb and a friend. So, I'm offering up a filled 1932 Brookville Steel radiator shell & I will pay the freight to send it to the winning bidder after receiving payment. The auction will close Friday 31 at midnight eastern standard time. HRP **** If you would like to make a donation please send me a PM. ****HRP Back...
Just wanting to help a fellow member in a time of need and I think it would be wonderful to make a donation. As for the rating..I guess some people don't care about anyone but themselves, just let it go..in the grand scheme of things it doesn't mater. HRP
You're alright in my book, HRP, no matter what your 1-star bandit says. And I'm with Saxman. PM me an address and I'll send a donation.
I did hesitate a little bit...because I don't want to be a charity case. I want you guys to know, that much more than any money this might bring, I appreciate the thought and the spirit and really...the love that's behind it. I can't thank Danny enough for doing this. If Sandy was here, (suddenly I'm crying again) she'd be extremely grateful to all of you...not only for the auction, but also for hanging with me this last week, posting all the heartfelt posts on the thread, and sending all the PMs offering any help needed and making sure I was ok. You've helped me to not feel so lonely in this big empty house. I don't even want to imagine what it would've been like without the support and comfort you've so graciously given me. Thank you. As Danny mentioned, I'd like for the money from this auction and any additional that's donated to go toward Sandy's headstone. I'd like for it to honor Sandy's memory rather than to benefit me. Of course, I'm going to tell her family who the money came from, and I know it'll touch their hearts. I'll be proud to give the Hamb the recognition it deserves, and to all of you here who've been so kind to me during this difficult time. And you should all feel proud of yourselves too for giving to a beautiful woman who gave so much of herself to others. Much love to you Danny, and all my brothers here. God bless you all. - Rick <!-- / message -->
Great idea Danny. Like I mentioned before it's been 16 mo. since I lost my gal and I just finished paying this summer for the headstone. And let me tell eneryone they are not cheap. Mine ran about $5700 for the headstone and a couple lots. That isn't for the service or the funeral home bill, just for two lots and a headstone. I will be sending a PM and a donation. God Bless and p*** the plate.
With this being the last day of the auction I wanted to publicly thank Harry,Gary,Chad,Voodoo Twin and Bugsy for their participation in the auction. It ain't over until it's over and there is still time to bid HRP
Hey! Very cool! Thanks for arranging this auction for Rickybop during this time and I'm really glad to help out, even if it's just a bit. Been prayin' for you too, buddy....hang in there. -Bugs
Good job, boys. Thanks again to Danny for doing this for our hurting brother. I hope this helps take a wee bit of the hurt away.
**** If you would like to make a donation to help with the marker/headstone please send me a private message for details. ****HRP
