There are still 100s of stashes out there from the guys in the 60s-70s-80s who had the space and the cash to acquire a lot of their favorite cars and parts. When the Father calls these end up on what we swapmeeters call "dead man's trailers" which are usually manned by friends of the deceased's family trying to recoup a nice return for the family. Prices are often lower than retail and quality is often much higher than what is today available. They get emptied quick. Remember, the stuff folks are buying now are the culls from the collections of folks in the 60s-70s-80s. When the collections come out...look out.
Where was this auction at ? 8 hours from your house that would not have been near Cincinnati Ohio would it ?
I found a decent 33 grill last week end and i thought i scored. After looking at your hall i have to start looking harder and setting the bar higher.
