it depends on how the vac advance is set up,some catch their signal above the throttle plate, some below.id guess your Mallory ports below the carb..the only above the butterfly ported carb that I know of is a late flathead holley 94..8BA EAB models..

I have seen the instructions for Mallory distributors all the way back to the first one on Holley's site . You need the model number from the name plate . Cant find it now but here's one for a YL series.

Finally got the motor back together after a long wait for the custom cam due to COVID.
Still got a bit of work before fire up time but it’s getting close.
    The roll bar is only there so I can compete at VHRA Pendine Sands a bit later in the year. 5DF57E38-0645-46E9-A094-E974C9C5724C.jpeg 51103B5A-7A24-4422-B94F-5123BDF1B92D.jpeg 1F3E387A-D992-42DE-9EEC-A60C9ED19DB5.jpeg 48053D17-2E9C-424D-9F9D-2817812AB394.jpeg 8BF47F7D-D120-4BF1-8A71-34A001383287.jpeg 84E75780-C4EE-4C09-96F3-FEB0BC2C44FF.jpeg E5CA621D-077C-4612-B778-4A04D0D3A4A7.jpeg 422A6CBD-DED1-4B26-85D9-CF5172BBA270.jpeg 08A21208-28DD-4F31-ACD3-87FD78C4D889.jpeg 77C5EC4E-01DF-4B4E-909A-59E4C88327FE.jpeg 1B8B75A1-A992-4E08-8572-62CACC38B681.jpeg 90E067DE-6A63-474A-B234-B3947D3AC700.jpeg 2551D5F8-99BE-4F09-9B25-4C723DA877FB.jpeg 8156279B-AB15-406C-881F-EB5AE970574A.jpeg 52053375-18B6-441E-8747-137C88BA6FEB.jpeg

Holy smokes @nutrocker my eyes hurt now . Just scanning all the pictures trying to take it all in as there sure is a lot going on and all very nicely detailed as well.
You are going to have a blast driving that little T for sure.

  13. Damn, that's a lot of plumbing for oil lines. Why is there oil going to the head and rocker covers ?

the ones going to the head oil the rocker shafts and the ones in the rocker covers oil mist jets. This gives a mist of oil onto the valve stem and rocker tip.

    Overkill for a grocery getter.
Bet you shop one item at a time so you can run back and forth lots.

  17. The Wade looks like it was made for that use Nutrocker,
Is that an oil pressure light hanging on the carb inlet?
Pendine certainly draws some wonderful machinery.
    Love the plumbing.

    .

Yes, that’s an oil warning light hanging off the carb scoop. Reason being is if I have the full tonneau cover on while driving I can’t see any of the gauges. Oil pressure is a must see item on this engine.

    Thank you.
It’s an oil tank as it’s dry sump. I’m not overly happy with it out front like that. Makes the car look a bit weird.
Once the motor is all sorted and it’s done a fair few miles I’ll look at making the whole car look better.

  24. Good on Ya! the car looks pretty good as it sits.
Let us know how that motor runs, J

  25. WHOA! that'll be a REAL runner! Ya! Leave that oil tank right up front: It'll keep it cooler & it's tall so it'll allow the oil to rid itself of frothy air bubbles How stout is the bottom end? (you'll need it running it hard!)

Bottom end is pretty tough. I think the weak areas are the head gaskets at 12:1 cr and the lower section of the block.

Is that the new block or a girdle with the extra mains. I can’t run the new block as it takes me out of Vintage class, but I can run the crank with a girdle.

I am in same place no new blocks allowed

Well, @patina steve bettered the record on the salt today some 11 mph in a banger belly tanker.
The car is in impound and we'll see if he backs it up tomorrow. Then I can tell you the numbers. I got the call and was in a drug induced sleep so I don't want to say...keep your fingers crossed for our buddy
