Great job! Although we both live in the same state and I'd love to see the roadster, given where you are and I am, you may as well be in Melbourne
Brilliant work mate! What you have done with the boxing plates is superb. I assume that our local rules are OK with that method? I too am in Gladstone and would love to catch up and chew your ear about your build. Are you in any of the local clubs? When work is more secure I am looking to build a more traditional rod, though with plenty of concessions for my first rod. I have had a couple of tri-five Chevys in the past so the availability of off the shelf parts has spoiled me. Send me a PM if you would like. Cheers, Jamie
Just saw your thread. Love your roadster. I've been thinking about doing the same thing with my boxing plates as you did on your roadster. Looks fantastic.
Thanks mate, just a new Walker. Started with an alloy cheap one but it'll be a backup now, get what you pay for.
In the spirit of " being safe " you need to send that dangerous sun - reflecting beautiful dash To me - it's your safety I am concerned with !!! Awesome build ! Good photos , excellent old time engineering ( although I don't think any one ,of the old school craftsmen would believe how far you have raised the bar .)
great build, thanks for sharing.... I love your rivet and frame work, impressive. Question; I see your using original fuel tank with a Stewart Warner fuel level gauge.... How are you working out the fuel sending unit?
Using a separate tank in the trunk piped through to the sediment bowl on the firewall, I don`t have a sender unit yet though so will have to sort that out later.
Been pretty keen to get this thing driving this last week after seeing all the guys having fun on the RCCRC run. Got the fuel tank for the time being in and lines run. I've always wanted to run one piece top radiator hoses, I ordered '37-'39 hoses thinking they looked the longest but they ended up short. Extended the top radiator inlets, not that happy with it but will do for now. Thinking I'll measure up '42-'48 and see it they'll workout better. While the radiator was out I spent afew hours trimming the crank and pulley to make the tach drive fit. If anyone has/or leads on the bracket show in the pic below that would be great!
Someone should do a Tech article on casting those brackets as they're hard to come by. By the way, I love your car!
