OK.... I've heard that cop cars in austraila used a dodge hemi 6 cyl.... a guy mentioned one in a post the other day...what a neat rod motor that would be... like most yanks....I've never see one.... any pics availabe?????
a quick search here, turned up a webring on aussie Valiants full of stuff, link is below I'm sure there is some good stuff there, the Charger had the hot motors model designations like e38,e49 are the factory triple carb deals, these were a strong motor even as a single 2bbl.
I had a 245 Hemi six with a 265 crank fitted into a Ford Capri dirt track car. It put out good horsepower and was a blast to drive. The car got sold but I still have the motor stored in a shed up north. Ain't got anything to put it into. Tried to talk my nephew into sticking it into his '54 Dodge.
And don't tell me Fish wouldn't replace the boat anchor he has in there.......p.s. is he building his own race team ??? looks like he got another litle helper the other day
No, he wouldn't put it in the Dodge. Maybe he should use his 324 Rocket motor. I just wish he would get the Dodge running. All it needs is the front brakes bleeding and a fuel pump. Must be too busy making babies.
Any of you guys around Sydney know Steve Lukehurst? He has a 265" Hemi in a '23 Buick; runs propane with twin turbo boost, IIRC, it run's low 12's in the quarter. There are some pictures of it on the Inliners web page under "Rides".
Here's a coupla pics from my archives... Here's another shot of a Hemi 6. Here's what an Aussie Charger looks like. One of the best looking Aussie muscle cars EVER! Hey *****6, is this the UGLY thing you're talking about??? It's alright, even the owner admits it's the ugliest Hot Rod around!
That buick must be heavy, there was a guy running a turbo 265 in a Charger here a few years back pulling 12's day in day out, damn thing was almost silent too...
Yeah Brootal, that's it! In my completely biased opinion, I thought it looked better before the repaint, when it was yellow. It had more of a "Happy Days" look to it. I don't suppose he had all that much body to start with; had to add the back section himself. Anyhow, even if it is ugly, its so damn quick, you won't be lookin' at it for long...
