I may have a few ute photos to contribute... I know I have shots of some members utes from here, the only question is whether I'll be able to find them while I'm posting... (Disclaimer: not all of these will be typical HAMB fodder, but I'll try to keep the post-66'ish stuff interesting...)
So far, these are all from the same car show, held at one of the local race tracks about a month ago.
Ryan'll kick my butt but these utes are all good! SSWeet '58. Wow. I can account for one of the 12 AP2's- on a farm SW Qld.- a decade ago- rusty, REALLY rusty. Gone bad.
That 58 used to belong to a member on here... I can't remember his username on here, but if he see's it, I'm sure he'll pipe up...
Here,s a pic of the Chrysler Valiant ute in one of the Crocodile Dundee movies. If i remember correctly it fetched a real good price on Ebay a few years ago.
Did Studebaker sell a Ute there? I have a friend who built this out of a 48 4 door sedan ..... I'd like to see what a real one looks like, if they made one.
No bullet noses done down here or anywhere 'cept on this page as far as I know. Pre- war; yes. Those production figures as asked for- Chevrolet Standard.- '34; 10 / Master; 61 '35- 590 / 203 '36- 1198 / 325 '37; 1374 / 283 '38; 1580 / 277 '39; 2129 / '40; 1484 '41; 1000 '42; 124- these & the '43's would be the rough & ready (style-wise) army jobs? '43; 499- Willys- '38; 375 '39; 241 '40; 4 only.
I found this ute in Toowooba,Qld, Aus in '77. It had just under 10K miles on it, and was probably the best Ford ute to come out of Australia. This '32 was extremely rare even then. I had to sell it when the guy I was working for put his business under from total mismanagement, and I lost my job. What a bummer.
your uncles old ute, there are a few people around who would have liked to get hold of that, I'm surprised he sold it.
Thats for sure!! I have always said to mark that i wanted his ute and he kept to his promise about selling it to me!!
I've got an FJ Holden, an FC Holden and a 47/48 Chev ute on the family farm but realistically all three are too far gone.
man i forgot about that 35.I think its still with the ferret.Well i think its a 35... Great thread, see if i can find some pic's of my 51 chev ute i used to own...
That wouldn't have been a factory ute.The ones like this were usually cut down from a tourer and used for farm work. The first official Ford Ute was in 34. http://www.fastlane.com.au/Features/First_ute.htm
ummm no, the one roadwarrior posted was a factory wellside they were designated as a type 304. 1934 was the first factory built coupe ute. here is an original 1932 type 304 http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/6225846
