Nobody's posted a pic of the "ute" that showed up at the second HAMB drags... well, not exactly a ute, but unique.. I miss choprods.
The Austin A40s were built here in Oz, PLENTY of utes, Countrymen and Devons around. Too bad they never built Dorsets here! Doc.
Fantastic Jimmy B , Where in Aussie are all the shots taken of the ol rusted tin ?,I know where theres is a spinner ute,saw it in a paddock out where Mad MAX was filmed, got photos here some where ?
Jimmy B. isn't this a 'two owner from new' Ute? I used to know of 39 Ute like this on the rear of a property about 30 minutes out of Condobolin on the nymagee road,Central west NSW. The place had been abandoned to the banks decades ago and the ute is behind an old house just off the road. pretty much free for the taking 13 years ago. Possibly still there.
Helidon Spa 12km east of Toowoomba. Those shots were taken in 2006 at an Auction, everything went. I'm not sure, I just see it at a lot of the shows around here.
WOW...... give me more. Someone with the Norm Darwin book, pls scan the details on the known production figures of some of the local utes and slopers. thanks oz40
Looks like the Beenleigh Showgrounds. A mate out at Ipswich has a Z car ute on a Lexus chassis. Lexus V8 ,ABS,air suspension, jap luxury and reliability with Z car style.
Hey Jimmy B, were and when did you "snap" the purple flamed FC? NSW plates, but I'd remember if I'd seen that ute!
Aha! I think I just uploaded pics of my Ute. Has anyone seen a 36 like this. I have only come across some small photos of a green one..
Here is a scan of the original brochure. Where in the midwest are you? I am in Iowa with a Desoto UTE
