Headed down yesterday for a bit of nostalgia drag racing fun to the local dragstrip. Drove there, raced, drove back. Good day all round. Bit of a video of my best run. Here's a bunch of pics from the day. Matt from West Racing. 434 cube small block in this C20. Was running high-13s with no traction. Neat XR with a BIG big-block. 520 cuber. Neat old Prem. Where's Humpty when you need him? Peter Ellis's HQ. Ran high-11s I think. Love the flares. Love VC Vals too. Haven't seen this compact before. Not quite sure why he was in Aussie Muscle... Anyone??? Hell Yeah! Went as good as it looks too. Clean Camaro. Factory 396 car now with a 454. Was running low-12s. Nice. Love these big Val coupes. Kim Nurmi's F-truck runs a 396 Clevo and was running 13.2-ish.
This was great. This engine. In this car. With THIS ET!!! Still one of the best looking cars to ever roll off an assembly line. Tough '35 coupe. Little bit low. Barry didn't want to get the Camaro dirty or break it because it's up for sale. Speechless. Dig this little pick up. I don't see it too often, but it's been around for about 20 years. For Murray. This is the good side. Plymouth coupe. Nice. Cool digger. Cool tow car too. BigKev trying to do a skid.
Hitchy. A betterer skid. This looks pretty close to wheels up. Barry in the Supercruise. Artsy Fartsky. This Coronet was killer. 440, 4-speed and it jumped out of the hole. He kicked my arse! Was running mid-12s. Darren's Javelin. Ended up running a best of 13.98. Lots of Chevs. Digger in Motion. Steve McGuinness's '39 coupe. Steve's coupe is very tidy off the line. Did someone say WHEELS UP??? And that pretty much covers it.
No worries. I've been a bit quiet (due to being ridiculously busy at home now that we have FOUR KIDS!) so don't post pics like I used to. I really need to find some more hours in the day to update the website with the last five years or so of events! LOL
