Bantam at Bonneville. I know it's hard to see, but it's a Rear engined Modified Roadster by SCTA standards
I know this is my first post......soooo hello everyone !!! I also know this is an old thread, but I wonder if anyone out there knows where this car is now and who might own it???? Thanks
Thanks 56wingnut........ Do you know if he ever comes on here, or how to contact him possibly? I am going to be building one myself and would like to pick his brain on a couple things....
Saw this car at the Throttlers' Picnic this year, and wondered if it was the same car I'd seen at the Petersen show at the Pan Pacific Auditorium in 1955. Turns out it wasn't, but the guy put me in touch with the builder of the '55 car, and I may have some pictures of it soon. This car is not a great beauty, but I've been a sucker for Bantam coupes since seeing that one in 1955.
Thanks guy's for sharing, I am just starting one for us and it is fun to look at all the different ones. 50Fraud.......I really like the style of that one.... Here is what we are starting with....... It is in the shop now.....
Wow! I had learned from Randy Chadock, the guy who built the Bantam I saw in '55, that it had been featured in a car magazine the following year. I just found this article in the November '56 Car Craft; I don't know how I had missed it all those years ago. This car affected me as strongly as the Grabowski and Ivo T's, which were just a little later, but then it just disappeared from sight. Randy tells me that he sold it out of state, but had no idea what became of it afterward. I think it's bitchin'!!
I would love to know more about the wheels on this one, are they some kind of really big donut spare from new cars?? Never seen anything like ´em
Hey 50Fraud.....I agree.....that car is bad ass !!!! I don't know much about computers, but is there anyway you could send that scan to my e-mail in full size so I could read the writing ?? Thanks
