There was a time in life when things were weighing heavily on me and my dad said "Son I have seen things go bad like this for months and then all of the sudden they will take a turn for the worst" then he gave me a big ole grin. It brought a grin to my face as well:)

Never mind I took a second look and saw the vinyl down at the bottom. What's something like that cost?

Thanks guys...I am very pleased with the final colors on the car. Believe me we have been laboring over them for several months trying to make the final call. It finally came down to this basic layout and but two possible color schemes: one Gloss Gold and white and the other Atlantis Blue etc.

I was searching for something that looked a bit more "traditional" when it came to a gasser theme. After talking to tons of fellow car show friends (actually wearing them out on the subject) I decided on the blue. Honestly it was not my choice as I was solidly on the Gold side from the beginning. But literally everyone I showed the samples to picked the blue.

Since ultimately this is about selling the beast, I decided maybe I should follow the popular vote. I am really glad I did as the Blue on this car even before the white was added was literally stunning. We are going to finish the nose etc. and then top it off with a gold metallic stripe between all the white and blue plus "Gold Leaf" or Gold Florentine "Dragnasty" on the side. I think it is just what the doctor ordered. It is hard to see in the photos but the blue is gloss metallic and the white is a satin pearl, the contrast between the two in person is really cool.

Spent most of the weekend putting the finishing touches on the Austin's new look. I really struggled with the front end, it just needed something up there. I played around with several layouts but decided on this one. I am really happy with the look. I still have some gold pin stripe to finish on the roof and a bit of work left on the lower rear but other than that we are starting to put her back together again...

I am really digging the gold pinstripe. It is very subtle. You can't even tell it is there as you approach the car but then when you get right up on it, suddenly there it is. Headed to MOKAN Friday night to see if she will run as good as she looks....LOL!

Yes sir, you sure can. One caveat though, if you pull the wrap, of course your pinstripe goes with it...LOL. We have had several motorcycle wraps that after it was done they had custom pinstripe put on them and then clear coated the bike. You can clear coat right over it as well. I won't say which one but there is a very cool looking '68 Hemi Cuda that runs the NHRA Hemi Super Stock Series that is a full wrap with clear coat. They have won several best paint awards with the car...LOL!

So I am working last night trying to get the Austin back together and after putting the outer grill ring on it just looked out of place. It was very pitted and had been sanded down a bit to help which gave it a very dull luster. It looked fine on the black but now not so much. So I decided to see what it looked like in the same color as the surrounding nose area. I liked it so much I decided to do the headlight rings too. Killed a couple of birds with one stone as the rings didn't look that nice either...

I would have finished the other side as well last night except for discovering the headlight screws for it are all missing! Par for the course. Oh well maybe tonight!

    CHUTE WORKS!

So it is about 10:30 last night and I am slaving on the car in the lobby where I work. It used to be a GMC Truck Dealership so it has a cool show room still in place. I have the front and side doors open sucking a nice breeze through the area. I had just reattached the chute harness and the breeze was blowing the canopy around a bit as it laid stretched out across the floor. That gave me a cool idea! I went out to the shop to get one of the small barrel style fans. I was thinking I could use it to open the chute then get a photo of it so it looks like it deployed behind the car in the show room etc. As you can tell, at this point, it doesn't take much to distract me from the job at hand...LOL!

Now much to mine disdain and to that of most folks around here, Springfield, MO has become the pan handling capital of the free world. They are on nearly every corner, sometimes as many as 4 at one intersection: begging for cash in all directions. Honestly, it is getting out of hand. So as I am rolling the fan into the show room I notice one of them is now sitting on our sidewalk out front leaning against the full length glass windows.

I stepped out and said very nicely that this is private property and he needed to move on please. He gets up but instead of leaving, he starts walking my way (Bad Idea). He is looking in the show room and asked, "What is this place?" I said. "THIS PLACE" is closed, now move on. He keeps walking till he is right at the door. He said can I come in and look around. I said tell you what, you stand right there and look around, I am going to step into my office over there and grab my 9 millimeter. I step back in the showroom and head to my office keeping my eyes on him.

When I am about halfway across the room he leans just inside the door and grabs the only thing with in reach, my Deist parachute, and blows off the sidewalk with it. I barely had time to react at all. Neither did he! With a hand full of canopy he leaps off the two steps leading up to the front door! He hits the ground running and takes about two full on sprinting steps before he reaches the end of the rope....LITERALLY!

It just about ripped his arm out of its socket and even moved the car that was sitting there in neutral a few inches! It sent him skidding out into the parking lot. After he quit rolling he got to his feet and kept running. I called the cops but they didn't even bother to show up. I don't know if he thought the canopy was a tent or what? I am just glad I had that thing clipped to the car! But I sure wish I had that on video tape cause it was about the funniest damn thing I have seen in a long time!

I Gotta agree with you on the capital of the free world man! Gonna be worse at your work when they open the shelter around the corner.

But that would have been funny to see. LoL! No outside cameras there?

So the new "Nasty" made its debut today at a local car show.
Things went pretty well, as it won first place in its class....
