You won't like it here. Here's a list why...

They call all soda (pop for you northerners) coke, except for Dr. Pepper.

If you like Mr. Pibb you're ****ed.

It's 150 degrees in the spring, and 175 in the summer.

There are no cool car shows to speak of.

Tex-mex everywhere, Canadian cuisine is non-existant.

Nobody hangs out on cruze nights.

The ****roaches are the size of an armadillo.

The armadillos are the size of a horse.

    The horses are jerks.

Free range zombies like to steal garbage at night, they leave a total mess and never clean up!

    Everyone carries a gun.

Old men walk down the street dressed in thongs and people love it, and get their pictures taken with them!

    Five of these are true.

The music is great, the food is great, the car guys are swell people, it rarely even freezes in the Wintertime.

Traffic ****s, When it DOES freeze - these drivers are idiots, expect 100 degree heat from mid-june through mid-october, property taxes are horrible.

Even though I got f**ked out of a job and was unemployed for a year its still an awesome town. Killer rides and the Austin group that lurks here on the HAMB are the nicest bunch of people you'd ever meet. The horses are real jerks though gotta admit that.

I drove in that I 35 traffic last March/April. Some of the most agressive drivers I have encountered.
Inlaws live out sw of Dripping Springs and it is a nice area except for the high water signs in a couple of spots (good excuse to stay home when there is one of those Texas gulley washers though).

Man, that sounds like the old bearded dude we saw. The wife and kids were going to SanAntonio last summer and stopped in Austin to check out Downtown. This old man was standing on the corner of a downtown street with people walking all around him in a Magenta bra and thong taking a sponge bath  We got back on the I-35 and ate in a suburb :D Then at dinner I had to explain "mental illness" to my 13yr old son who witnessed it

The Dr.Pepper in Waco ROCKS!!! That cane sugar they use makes it taste like the original stuff from when I was a kid.

This is true. you gotta have your "game face" on with Austin Traffic.
The problem (In my opinion) isn't any 1 thing. Figure this-it's the only place I know of where you get to drive with Texans, New Yorkers, Californians, and Mexican Nationals (nice P.C. term, Eh?)on a daily basis. throw an ***hole like me into the mix and you have yourself a certified traffic issue!

You Texas guys are frickin funny. I just got to learn to say the phrase "dowhat" in that southern drawl. My wife does it perfect, she done be from Arkansas ya know. Thanks for the info.

    And as an aside........

Milwaukee ****s, the weather is horrible, the houses are too frickin expensive, taxes are high, crime is terrible, did I mention we have two seasons.......Winter and Hot as **** summer.

    I have good news!
You can cut that down to just 1 real season (summer-with a cold couple of weeks thrown in just to make sure you don't throw away your long johns) and aside from that...well, the crime isn't that bad.

housing can be pretty pricey around here...but there are (remarkably) still relatively cheap houses avalible...provided you don't mind doing a bit of renovating, the weather here is really nice-but I like heat in the afternoon and a nice cooling quick shower in the evening. Taxes are middle of the road, but we don't have a state income tax.

I like it. it suits me and mine very well.
