I always wanted to take my own car to the LSRU. So I did. I had a great weekend full of friends, cars, cruising, and great food.

I dodged a Tornado in Oklahoma the Thursday before the show. The weather this weekend in Austin was perfect for a roadster. Good times. I would do it again. Austin sure is weird.

I like your roadster! It appears to be Jim Smith's (Hot Rod Garage in Oklahoma) old car?

Thank you! Yes that is correct. Lee Tillman ( member here) started building the roadster in 2004. It was in bare metal when Lee had it. The roadster changed hands a few times and Jim ended up with it. Jim and Jason made it what it is now.

The roadster actually made it to the LSRU in 2010? In bare metal, also the Hot Rod Revolution 2012?

Oh shit, I had no idea that was Lee's old roadster!! I recall drawing inspiration from it when building my own. When Jim had it at the Gathering at the Roc, I just assumed it was a new build by their shop. Super cool that you have it and are enjoying it!

Thank you! That's the car! Haha. I am certainly enjoying it. I'm glad Jim gave me a shot at it when he decided to let it go!

That is a sweet looking roadster.
That tornado that you dodged had my cousin taking cover but didn't get too close to his place as far as I know.
I'd have to say that if you go to Austin and don't feel that you ate good you are flat doing somethign wrong.

Since my wife is from central Texas and her sisters live there with one of them out southwest of Austin roundup is one of our bucketlist trips.
