  1. Hey Lady Cruiser,

Thank you [IMG] yes as all the melbourne hambers will tell you, i have a fear of the sun... must be my early goth days. Your right though, much nicer without the roof!

WOW! I like it just as much in color, if not more. [IMG] It does look better without the top on though [IMG] [IMG]

Yes my coupe once looked this nice, but I reckon it still looks nice maybe even nicer! And that's the race car images taken around 12 years apart with a rebuild and many upgrades in that time and of course an Australian record. A bunch of other stuff in the old whodaky hot rod hangout, but hey can mention that stuff another time! Whoops, that's me in front of the race car! [IMG]

nice shots Drewfus, that front shot is neat. I have a similar shot when it had one of the flathead V8s in it, your shot; it had Chuck's B model with the Rutherford head. Frewfus, have we met?

  6. Flatoz, I think I got it sussed out, I have gutted the water pump housing and welded it shut. I am saving for a chrome sump, when I get it, I will pull the motor, clean and paint it (Ford blue), then fit all the shiny stuff- polished intake, polished rockers, chrome dress bolts, headers. When it goes back in the electric pump is next thing on the list. If it don’t work out I have enough room to run stock pump if I run a fan in front of the radiator.

i'm here, but i'm still painting my street machine which everyone here would hate, so i'll keep my piccies to myself for now... [IMG]

the closest thing i'm doing to traditional right now is modeling up a 32 chassis in 3D, which i am planning on lasercutting and building... (my modified special version, of course...) many thanks to the generous HAMBers that sent drawings to me.

i'll post some images of that once i've moved along with it a bit.

hey All,looks like Vic is the home of trad rods...there a only a few here in Perth.I'll post pics of my car in the next day or 2,the front end is almost back together and a few bits and pieces and it'll be ready for registration.Hopefully fcute will get his little shipment of parts so I can get my Caddy lights and bullets for the hubcaps.
Some of the other guys may know me as 37chev on a couple of Aussie forums

  9. Geoff, we have met, it's just that I have a very forgetable face [IMG] [IMG]
Ya need to introduce both Wayne and Chris to the HAMB....I'm sure people would love to see both of there 'salt' projects....

Here's a shot of the 'Rutherford'.

    Cheers,

Heres the RPU as of last month, its all blown apart now, so looks to have gone backwards, but chassis is pretty much complete, found some F100 brakes, so should be a roller real soon.then the body work starts....steeling out doors, rear panel and making the pick-up bed slide thru the rear suspension(kinda tricky with a 13" rear kick!!)

  20. Thanks Peddro, as i'm virtually computer illiterate

the car started out life as a 54 Anglia/Popular and was couped in the 80's by a mate of mine. The roof insert is from a Mk1 Zephyr, rear quarters are part daimler/pop and the rest hand made. The motor is a Daimler 2.5 litre V8 baby hemi. Apart from the screen being out - this is how I had it registered on the road back home in England. I shipped it out here a couple of years ago, and have been waylaid somewhat with house renovations and a baby.

Future mods include a track nose from an old Aussie race car which was known as the "Black Jack special" and a paint job and a louvered hood.

BobbedT, that's a wild looking pommy hot rod, great to see something different. Actually have a A40 stowed away down here, was a 4 door no is a 2 door and chopped, will be a drag car when finished, a long way off though!

It was a long way off when I saw it 5 or 6... or maybe 7 years ago whodaky!!! [IMG]

I've got a photo of it somewhere. I'll have to track it down and scan it.

  23. Whodaky,
the A40 sounds cool - is it going to be a straight-tubed front axle riding high-in-the-air monster??? I have visions of a 60's gasser, what say you???

I want to raise the front and rear ends on the Pop by a few inches, as it doesn't look quite right at the moment. I'll probably put a stock height front axle on the front and alter the rear axle brackets.

I figure the 70's revival hasn't been done yet so I could be the first to start the new trend. Raised letter wide tyres on banded Wheels, buttoned draylon interior, moon upholstered headlight covers and murals. It could be the next fad (no pun intended) of the future of Street (ugh) Rodding. For those of you reading this who think the above sounds cool - go and buy some of Don Montgomery's books, and get a grip of yourself. [IMG]

You can also see the enclosed walls of the car-port that Brootal gave me a hand with - Cheers Boz

No sorry Bobbed T, no straight axle, I like em low. Actually this project has been on hold for quite a few years. But hey it will happen some day!

  25. Whodaky,

I'm not a great fan of Austins and other early Pommy cars but that car has ATTITUDE. It looks like it will terrorize your local area. What running gear does it have in it???

yeah it definitely looks tough. I am part owner in it. It will run a small block with a race glide, runs a 9 inch with a mini spool. It will eventually be dark purple, halibrands are polished now. I did all the body mods , also built the box section chassis for it, it runs a narrowed Torana front end. When completed it will be finished to a very high standard. Everyone who sees it, says we should put it on the street. A lot of people have wanted to buy it. But it doesn't owe us a lot, just mostly time. Glad you like it BobbedT

  27. Best looking A40 I've ever seen, that's for sure. [IMG]

Bob - Good to see that shed is still standing!! Glad to be of help.
