Any guage gurus out there? The water temp gauge in my Lincoln is acting all wonky. As soon as the key is on, the needle pins itself all the way to the right. No overheating or anything but I would like it to register so if there was a problem.......Problem is the sender for this application seems to be sold out or is available but stupid expensive..I was wondering if anyone knew of a reasonably priced alternative to this sender??
I'm not familiar with that particular sending unit, but needle pegging to the high side generally suggests a short. That's how to test a gauge, short the sending wire to ground. Gauge should peg. So look for a pinched wire, something like that. It will hork the gauge eventually
