Hot Rods Auto Meter gauge/dash question

My beautiful young wife surprised me with a set of Vintage Auto Meter gauges today, UPS drove up and delivered a set of black-faced, beveled gl*** faced, cl***ic pointer needles that are the Cat's ***!
One problem...The speedo measures 3.125" diameter, (3-1/8") whereas my Stewart-Warner 160 MPH is 3.375". (3-3/8")
I built a dash some years ago from hard aluminum sheet, (Calif. 55 MPH sign!) and fitted it to my F100 bezel, engine turning it.

Question: Is there a 'stepped bezel' (spacer) from one of the gauge mfrs. that will allow me to use the smaller speedo in the large hole, without having to turn something out in those diameters?
I sure don't need to engine turn another dash insert if I can get a 'spacer'...
and don't want an aftermarket 'Haneline' or some such.

 

I've seen some floating around enough to know someone makes / made them at one point but never had any luck finding a source myself.

I got creative with some hardware store stuff for now but will eventually end up with some mill/ lath made pieces I suppose

 

You mean 3-5/8"? So it drops right through the hole, not just loose in the hole? Please post photo, of beautiful young wife.

 

I got some adapter rings from a VDO gauge site, but not sure if they carry one your size.

 

Your wife have any sisters who like hot rods?

 

Thanks, Tim & RB35. That was my guess, hard to find someone employed at any of the gauge mfrs. that know anything about 'old stock'.
Mr. Gasket seems to have re-stocked the employees' ranks with their own.

 

I ran into the same problem last year. I never could find such an animal and ended up buying a larger speedometer.

 

The last time I had to deal with the too large a hole and too small a gauge I ended up in the house wares department at Wally World and bought a small aluminum pan and used hole saws and a file to clean up the edges,,it worked fine. HRP

 

Find someone with a lathe and turn what you need out of aluminum.

 

I got one word for you Mayonnaise jar lid, OK that's 3 words sorry. I cannot even begin to count the jar lids that have found their way into my dash panels over the years.

OK, I gotta ask... Do the lids come in chrome or polished aluminum?.... LOL!

 

Br*** or steel. The aluminum thing went away long ago when they decided that aluminum caused Alzheimer's.

I do have some old zinc lids around here that I have saved because they look cool as spacer rings on all sorts of things.
