Joe, The Race Car Guys are all over by the stadium, Paxton & Etter are always there, Dick Green comes up from Frorida, Dan Price from Ohio and all the others from the old days. Parts are fairly picked over, but once in a while something pops up. Hope you can make it to Hershey in the future. I can remember a chat I had with your Dad at Hershey as clear as it was yesterday. I'm off early tomorrow, Hershey funds got drained to pay bills, hope someones likes the odds & ends I'm bringing to sell.

Bob is this one of the former Zimmerman K's? I'd like to know who has the K Roadster Elmer Bemius had in the 1950's & 1960's. My 1912 T Touring was the first car in his collection, still has the same restoration he finished in 1950 in time for the Glidden Tour.

I agree! I'll bet there is a ton of history on the cars that has been lost over the years. Hope Nancy stops by my spaces to say hello, it was nice meeting her last year. Bob:)

The car surrounded by Nazis is a Mercedes 290 I think.

Yes Bob, the cars are small 328's have less room in them than the earlier /1 cars.

After looking at Henry's Model K racing cars and the photo of the one Bob posted I thought this photo might be of interest. It is W.W. Pickerill behind the wheel of a 1906 6-cylinder Ford Model K Roadster in Tacoma, Washington.

The second photo shows a touring car in Kansas City, Missouri after a promotional tour of some sort.

Great Praga link Mr Fire. I had no idea they built anything that svelte ...or that early. I wonder if it received the same reaction as the Airflow because the later ones look awkward :p

I never fail to be amazed by some of the spectator 'perches' that people use, that rocky outcrop looks a good place to watch a days racing from.

  23. So, just cropped it? I thought their was a way to make them bigger. I know if one puts it in Photobucket, it is larger than the normal 'manage attachments'. Thanks, Hope you enjoyed it.
Question...I have many photos from this old scrapbook. Is the photo quality from scanning newsprint worth the effort?

Gene...... I use a Mac, I took a screen shot of it which is a way to capture whatever is on you montior and then enlarged it. I lost a little top and bottom because of the limitations of the size that you can use in IPhoto which is Macs photo program.

  25. T, Let's give this a try. This is from the scrapbook. Their was no ID of any type.

Gene it looks like Joe Dawson in the National-most likely 1912 possibly after Indy 1912

  27. It does look like Dawson, thanks.... Here is an opening day program for the Cincinnati-Hamilton track from 1933.

  28. How big do you want it? Can you give me a size? This is 8" tall...and I cleaned up the torn edge and water stain for you....I could make 'em as big as you'd like, but we can't post huge images here...I could mail you a CD if you'd like...just PM me and tell me how big you'd like each image you want re-sized to be with your mailing address and I'll get it in the mail to you next week...-Mark

Today at Hershey there were two Ford K's side by side, a Touring and a Roadster, down a ways were two MERCER Raceabouts. I now know of 12 T-head Raceabouts. :D
