I see you have this labelled as 1940 in the file name, Keith. This misattribution seems to stem from an error in David Venables' book "Racing 1500s" - the picture is in fact the 1938 Targa Florio: note the lighter-coloured car numbered 12, which is Manuel de Teffé's Maserati 6CM, painted in the Brazilian racing colours of yellow and green. (It is correctly captioned in Johnny Lurani's "History of Motor Racing".) De Teffé took the car to Brazil at the end of 1938 and in 1941 sold it in Argentina to Eric Forrest Greene.
