Our good friend Harry Pallenberg who is busy making a documentary film on the history of auto racing in Los Angeles recently got in touch. He is asking for assistance in identifying these drivers, crew and officials from Legion Ascot, circa 1928. This is an era in American racing i am not overly familiar with so i hope some of you can help Harry.

My dad, Art Naprstek at 14 years old along with his brother and friend in 1928 with a model T that they raced around the fields in River Edge, NJ and ten years later in 1938 with a midget on the boards at Nutley Velodrome, Nutley, NJ.
My apologies for the poor quality second generation photos.

FIVA: I see that USA is hosting the annual general meeting this year, Washington to be more precise. Was wondering what opinion you people have in general on the Fiva subject?

As a brand newcomer and vintage racing enthusiast from the other side of the pond, this thread is a true treasure trove worth of a large library. Thank you for your outstanding contributions. Just try to identify as much as I can those secluded vintage beauties.

It may be a Morton & Brett, check the tail section and see if there is a seam were the tail cone would attach to the rest of the body.

I've seen a picture from a 20's expo of a local coachbuilder's display with two bodies in that style of aluminium and steel with their comparative weight and price so I'm thinking it could be anything

I have only seen the race cars, the sedan body and a taxi or two and i must say that the proportions of that body are not comparable to anything Montier & Cie. had built for them although looking at the side and the rear from the top it has some similarities to the 1933 GP car but the cowl is too long. There is a car that was found in Paraguay some time ago that many believe to be an original Montier but the body is of a different make. Interesting body nonetheless. Thanks for sharing.
