Back story is, last summer I had terminal flathead failure. Since then I have bought a 59ab flatty which means I need to get a different trans, hence the search for 49merc overdrive. So now I end up with a coupe and an engine that I don't have the parts to install. I have been in this situation now for about 8months while I put everything on hold while I built a garage. Now, as I sit here, I have my acceptance letter for the world of wheels show. As I don't have the cash ,also don't seem to have a line on a merc overdrive trans. Ok, first evening was a bust. Ende up playing games and guitars with family and friends. Today I plan on getting a merc Trans, without overdrive. So I know it won't fit my car without mount and driveshaft mods. Not even sure this Trans is good, but worth trying. Stay tuned...... Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
