Has anyone tried to convert an electric choke on a Holley 750CFM to a manual choke WITHOUT spending $50+ on the actual Holley Conversion Kit - which doesn't even include the choke cable? I'm thinking: remove the cover of electric choke, connect a cable to the choke thermostat somehow to be able to control the opening and closing of the ****erfly. OR get rid of the electric choke altogether and attached a cable to the ****erfly somehow in order to be able to open and close it. All help is greatly appreciated.
I haven't seen one in years but at one time you could buy a cable with a loop formed on the end and a bracket. You took off the choke cap, installed the bracket, and attached the cable with the loop over the arm that previously went into the cap. It shouldn't be too hard to fab up something simlar.
How about a Dorman conversion kit on Amazon for $11 instead... Amazon.com: Dorman 55101 Choke Conversion Kit Universal Fit : Automotive
I’ve not tried it but the Weber 32/36 with manual choke just uses a unit that replaced the bi metallic coil, which means you keep the throttle piston and all other gubbins. Looks like Bob got there first
