    I am trying something new
please go to the Tech Archives and take a look at the thread

    Cadd files, test thread
    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1161193

I have posted several zipped files in R14/LT .dwg format as well as a thumbnail .jpg for preview

there should be Winzip programs available cheap or free online to unzip
for those of you who don't already have it

I saved them in R14/LT because that is the oldest most basic format available to me.
I can save them as R12/LT but only as .dxf

anyway, take a look and give me some feedback if you will.

    thanks,
    Paul

    ps:
I would be glad to include the artist's? names if you let me know who did what.

Looks good to me. I'm forever lookin' for someones drawings way after the fact and can't find 'em.

if I couldn't open one I'd just change the suffix.
Actually .dxf is a more universal format. But you often loose some stuff in the interchange. .dwg is most common.

If you don't wanna draw you can go to autodesk and download a viewer for free. If that's any help to anyone.

i have this that i never finished.......in .dwg and i'm pretty sure this was my last revision and was VERY accurate....****** mount position in relation to everything else...

i know it's crude and you could dimension it yourself......never got the legs drawn either....

    Paul,
They worked for me in AutoCAD LT 2000. Thank you very much. They will be helpful at some time in the future.

  12. The .zip.....it ain't necessary. Why not .dwg (r12) ?

  13. Worked fine for me too. Awesome work!

  15. Depending on what format you are drawing it in. i believe that new versions of autocad have trouble opening r14 drawings. New as in 2006 and such. I know my old office had to switch to 2000 because we have been running 14 for ever and other companys sending files wouldnt work.

Looks good from here in ACAD 2000i. I like the format and the thumbnail is very helpful.

Speaking as a hard core dial up user:rolleyes: I'll say that I don't think the zip business is required. Anything under 500k or so is no problem on my 56k "trailing edge of technology" connection. I might be more patient than most, though.

Winzip no longer considers it's software free - any recommendations?

Let me know when you're ready for 3D solids. IGES or ACIS might be good somewhat universal formats, but file sizes will be huge compared to ACAD.

for those that dont have autocad and are interested in seeing autocad files, there are a few free autocad viewers out there, where you can see and print only. Go to somewhere like download.com and do a search for autocad viewer.

Can it be transferred to DXF format an re-posted?
DXF seems to be the most universal format I've found..........

Cool drawings! How were the dimensions developed?

Anyone who needs WinZip, I have a "demo" version that works great and forever, no time limit, that I can email you.

If you didn't find a free reader at the download site, go to www.autocad.com and do a search for volo view and download it.

banzaitoyota, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
