  1. The countries we set up shop in all practice "Economic Nationalism" . They would never dream of buying anything from another country unless they have to.

  2. start learning chinese!!

  3. I bought a 1950's Red Cross MFG co. hay elevator made in the 1950's 2 years ago for $100. Put a new belt on it, a power cord mice had eaten through and greased it and have put up 900+ bales with it. No problems..works like a champ. The electric motor is solid rust but runs smoothly

A neighbor bought a $2000 Snowco last year and after 300 bales the geared sprocket broke

X2.....really fed up with EVERYTHING being made or copied in China.
Buy American if you can. We need the jobs BACK !

  7. I'm suprised no one has said anything about the unions in this country driving buisness out. I worked as a welder in a non union shop for 40 years and always had work. I had friends who worked in the trade unions and they made at least twice as much as I did but they all ended up out of work. The only ones getting rich were the heads of the unions. I know it's not just that but it is a problem. Look at the auto companies.

No they don't ! America actually owns their investments

What America needs to do is devalue the dollar [ American consumers would no longer be able to afford imported commodities ] The domestic market would recover

The Chinese economy would collapse, because they would lose the biggest consumer market in the world.
And have a shitload of surplus money to invest [ which USA wouldn't want anymore ]

so they'll bring it back to China [ where the yeild on the Chinese currency would collapse,so it will be a liability to for them invest ]
The surplus money would be consumed internally in China
This would threaten to raise their standard of living of the Chinese so they are no longer competitive in the world market place.

China doesn't want the "debt" re-paid , the fuckers don't even trust their own economy.

Are people complaining because Autolite spark plugs are falling apart and ruining engines or are the complaints because America needs to be more protectionist in their trade policies. I would agree that north America needs to ad import duties to countries that copy our stuff and undercut our price. On the other hand, The Autolite 216L's I use (among others) have never given me a problem. Champion has Failed me several times. I will still buy Autolite, Made in the USA, Made in Mexico, Made in China, Made in Canada Made and made to Autolite's original specs until I myself and/or the masses find that they are falling apart. At this point they are not. .

this made me laugh, thinking that only adding gas to a vehicles makes them great, i think your blazer died cause the owner (you) failed to keep up with maintenance! i have a 1996 gmc work truck with over 250,000 miles on it, and guess what? it still runs or as you put it, its still humming along! buy whatever you like, but dont get mad when your job gets exported because (they being the company you work for) think thats their quality is better then yours!

i dont hold it against the average china man or woman, they work their asses of for pennies, they are just trying to live.

I blame big corporations for being greedy! look at optima batteries, they used to be top of the line from what i was told. then they moved to mexico and raised the price of their batteries, WTF? labor is cheaper in mexico, you think they would have lowered the price.

Then you have the pirates who make half ass parts that they sell here! look at pep boys, and all other big chains, they sell crap!
who the fuck goes to one of those places and wants to see electric bikes for sale? or other crappy shit you can stick on your car, what happened to our great parts store?

I remember when i was a kid my grandfather would take me to the mom and pop parts store, where they knew you by name, we need to keep buying American! even if it cost you more then an over seas part, your are keeping another american working and not out of a job! l

You are right, They need to earn more money and Americans need to earn less.
I am not talking about wage cuts but an allignment of currencies.

Most corporations are no longer producers but instead they've become speculators [ buy in China and sell in USA ]
eventually USA will be plundered clean.

The biggest cost in commodities on the shelves is not the labour or materials !

    It is the profit margins!

A few examples from around our house...

*waffle iron - late 30s GE. Looks and works like new.

*blender - late 30s Osterizer, their first model. Looks and works like new.

*coffee maker - mid 40s Sunbeam Coffeemaster C30A vacuum pot. Looks and works like new.

*toaster - mid 40s Sunbeam Toastmaster T20B. Looks and works like new.

Same goes for our pots, pans, utensils, plates, glassware, lamps, decor... I think you can get a pretty good idea of how we feel about Communist f@cking China in this house.

Shit, I guess I better get rid of my 1992 Chevy Z71 that has 328,000 miles on the original drive train. Damn, I didn't know it was a pile of crap that has the original 5.7 and still gets 17MPG and takes me 176 miles a day round trip to work and home.

My wife's place of employment for the last 31 years was bought out this past year. Last week, letters went out to almost all personnel in the factory that by July 2012 all their positions (over 100) would be fazed out (wife work's in engineering and is safe for now). The jobs will be sent to China in an effort to remain competitive in the global market. To receive severance, current employee's will have to train their replacements who will be brought here for training (what a slap in the face). My wife said some long time employees were crying as they were leaving for the day. As most were getting into their IMPORT cars to leave, she couldn't help but think, (as she got into her Chevy) "what goes around comes around".

Now back on topic. Just ran out to the trailer to check my Autolite race plugs. Made in Mexico.

Seems some folks haven't yet realized we have lost this war. For the last thirty years our national policy has been to placate greed by corporations. The government starting in the 70s has actually given corporations bonuses for sending jobs overseas. At this time there are about three more free trade agreements in congress including one with Korea. These corporations have absolutely no economic patriotism to the country that made them great. President Eisenhower warned us but no one listened. I predict that in the near future as Korea and other such countries get their free trade agreements we will be talking about how we remember the good old days when stuff was made in China not this cheap shit from Korea!

We can definitely argue reliability, however there is no comparison with resale value. Simply put, import vehicles command a higher resale value than their American counterparts.

I would never get mad if my job gets exported, it simply means I need to find a different line of work. Things change all the time, people who sit around complaining about change are the ones that get left behind.

I remember hearing about NYC textile jobs being shipped overseas as early as the Kennedy Administration. The dismantling of America's industrial might, the machine that made our country strong has been a long, slow process indeed. And those who benefit from it, and enable it are laughing all the way to the bank. :(

wow resale? really? i dont resale shit, why pay for something new when your truck works just fine, its paid for! fuck imports and dont care how cool or how much they resale for. im not in the type of person who need a new car every few years, that is fucken stupid! "Oh im tired of my car truck whatever time for a new one, i wonder how much i can get for my old one?" thats stupid! my truck makes me MONEY, not the other way around.

are you sure you like old American Iron? or are you one who buys and flips it for profit? not that there is anything wrong with that, but if you are concerned with resale of an import, then you are in the wrong place!
