Just wondering if anyone is running an automatic floor shifter in your car or truck?

Nope, I screwed mine to the roof so I wouldn't accidently bump it out of gear.

An added bonus was it gave me a place to hang my disco ball!

Just kidding, all my cars have stick shifts! :D

Use them in two of my three rides. Both are B&M rachet shifters. Not traditional, but they sure work well! Since the tunnel is so narrow on my Austin I had to build a custom base to mount it.

I was running a Gennie shifter on my TH 350 but I'm in the process of switching to a 4-speed. It worked great for 2 yrs or so and I liked the fact that you could use any knob on it. No ****on on top like the Lokar one. If you are interested in it check the cl***ifieds. My brother listed it (327-365)

Easy, guys. This gent just MAY be caught up in making the mortgage, raising little ones, and cracking that California nut at around $1,700 a week!

Probably put stuff on hold just until he can...

I installed a '53 Merc flathead with Merc-o-matic in a '30 Highboy on Deuce rails once, 1957. Every pendleton-shirted 'know it all' that saw it said "How can that work? Automatic in a hot rod????"
Its owner sure liked it. (he was a one-legged Korean war veteran. No left leg...)
    But it's old hat now...

Why do you want to shift your floor?

  16. They call it channelling. It's ok, it's traditional. But I'm worried about it happening automatically...

Not all Hambers use three pedals, Don't get me wrong I've banged my share of gears in my time but after knee surgeries and knee replacements some things aren't as fun anymore. Love the B&M ratchet shifter on my tb400. It's awesome. Let us seasoned Hambers stay in the game for the fun of it....YRUHOT

I have 2 with B&M shifters, use the ratchet if your worried about hitting it out of gear, but even the gates on the normal side prevent it..

The coolest auto floor shifter ever is the '70s Hurst Auto Stick. Bolts onto the tail shaft. Has shift detents so you can just smack it, and not over shift. You can bolt ANY shift arm to it. I got two on Ebay a while back, they're cheap, nobody knows about them. **** Locar!
