so i found a nice 305 out of a 70 camaro that im putting in my 55 chevy truck, the motor came with a flex plate but im running a 4 speed manual, need to get a flywheel and new clutch etc.., considering this motor originally came with an automatic from the factory will there be any problem putting a flywheel on, as far as mounting it to the crank? dont think there is just wanting to make sure

so i guess its safe to say most likely if a motor originally came with an automatic its set up for solely an automatic

Not really, but in the cost cutting years....never know.

But don't give up hope, there are jigs available, and can be made, to bolt toa the cranks and drill a proper hole.

Please do not try to do by hand without a jig:)
