Automatic trans (325-4L) question

I need some advice....I'm using a 325-4L transaxle in an OT project, and I'm using a GPS speedo. Can I totally eminate the speedo drive and just cover the hole, or will that cause a problem with trans fluid flow patterns? Anything else I need to consider? I'd appreciate any help I can get!

 

Any auto trans gurus out there?

 

If I remember correctly the speedometer for the trans is part of the governor ***embly so no you can't run it without that housing. No reason you can't just leave the speedo cable disconnected though.
