1929 Model A French firewall tag and radiator shell emblem

 

Hello,

It used to be a model of car or truck always had a nice side emblem to allow folks what type of car it is. These days, it must be a given that whoever is in the market for a car, already knows what they want and knows the emblem in its current state.

Who would have a deer on the side of the car, unless one knows the type.

But, as the new cars design advanced, the emblems were down played and just a simple wording on the side was used.

Some car manufacturers needed to get the name of the unusual model and styling out there, so the name tag on the front side. But, to make it absolutely clear, the trunk had it only make identification neatly placed along with the model name. Mercury Monterey..

Sometimes it is nice to live in So Cal as there are always surprise old car builds that still roam the streets for a daily cruiser or an errand only car used on nice sunny days. (which there are plenty of, these days)


But, on the coast, they come out to play when the fog recedes and the sky is blue. “We all like a nice rear end…” 6 lights and all…YRMV
