I've seen these since my childhood, but I've paid more attention lately. This one appears to be a 49-50 Dodge converted for rail travel. It is located at the [FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]Mid-Continent Railway Historical Society in North Freedom, WI. The entire museum grounds was flooded in 2008, and the water appears to have been to the top of the doors on the Dodge. Would be an unusual project for sure.

Appears to be a very rare Dodge 8 p***enger sedan. They used the same body as Chrysler and Imperial limousines and DeSoto Skyview taxicabs and Suburban sedans. You may have seen the DeSoto Suburban, with roof rack, on Happy Days, Mr Cunningham's car.

For some reason a lot of railroads picked Chrysler products in the thirties, forties and early fifties. At least they seem to be the most common rail cars or inspection cars.
