As many of you know... every weekend offers a huge selection of car shows... and this being the LAST weekend of summer I had to choose between a couple different venues and I decided on one that I haven't been to for over 15 years... Beloits Autorama...!!! I called PBRmeASAP and JakeR as well as a couple other HAMB'rs last Friday and asked if they would be interested in caravaning 60 miles to the show... most had other commitments but PBRmeASAP and his Sweetheart were able to drive on down to Beloit. Seems we weren't the only HAMB'r that made this decision... there were about 28+ members in the 1,200 car turnout! After a bit of morning fog the skys cleared and the weather was perfect. We parked under the shade trees by the river and I spent the whole day walking through the Show area, Swap meet and car corral. I couldn't get over the fact that this was such a "Great Show" and it was only $10 to get in and the Food and beverages were great tasting at bargain prices... aside from Gas... I think I spent $23 total and had an "Awesome Time"!!! I saved enough money where I could donate a few extra bucks for the 50/50 drawing. This is a one day event and it benefits the Lions Club and the Blind... and this will be on my show list for next year. (But Next year I'm bringing my fishing poles!!!) Hopefully someone will add photo's to this thread!!!
Yep I thought it was a great day too. Being by the river under the trees is an awesome spot. When I saw you by the car I thought maybe your were trying to sell it. LOL Scott
I had a great time at Beloit this year as always, but it was more fun this year as a lot of our Tin Butcher members got to park close together in one spot; even tho we didn't plan it that way. I really like seeing all the HAMB style cars that are showing up at Beloit, there's more every year. ..also picked up a few goodies at the swapmeet. If you go next year, pre-enter and it's only 6 bucks! ...how bout this "horsepower shot"?
It was a cool show, and the swap wasnt to bad either. Picked up a caddy air cleaner for a pretty good deal. Talked to a lot of HAMBers too
Darn it, I forgot all about the Autorama until it was almost noon! By then I figured it was too late to make the hour drive. I haven't been to it for a number of years, but it's always been a great show. I have to get better about putting things on the calendar!
This has been a well run show for years. The location next to the river is great and this year was even better with the addition of some new paving in the park. Here are some of the photos I shot.
What!?! How did I miss this? I can't believe I missed it this year. I didn't even have anything to do all weekend Fudge...
