AutoRama EXTREME

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by roadstar, Jan 15, 2007.

  1. Well I figured it was about time to post something here about the show. As some of you know I spent a lot of time this summer checking out cars for the show, and giving out applications. I was careful not to just drop them in cars like at most show because I know I tend to just scoop them up and throw them out.

If I handed you an app it was as good as an invite. So if you are interested in attending the show it is very important to get the application filled out and sent in with some pics of the car asap.

We are way ahead of last year with interested car owners and already have 3 times the apps we had last year at this time, so I don't think we will have any problem filling the spaces we have. I foresee more cars than spots so the sooner you send in an app the better your chances are of getting in the show.

If you want to park together with friends, please list the people or send the apps in together. Some people have already contacted me about this and we plan to do everything we can to accommodate everyone just as we have in the past.

A downloadable application can be found here: http://autoramaextreme.com/

They will be sent to Autorama Bob. Remember him form last year, he actually works for Championship Auto Shows and will answer any questions you have as well, his email is on the app also.

We plan on having a lot of new cars this year, people seem to be coming out of the woodwork with awesome new cars so it will be a great show I promise.

The Rock and Roll entertainment has been stepped up this year to include two bands, The Twistin' Tarantulas (www.twistintarantulas.com)
    and the Volcanos (http://www.myspace.com/thevolcanos).
, playing Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Along with Vendors from all over the country.

The cars will be the stars as usual. And the people who build and drive them will be there to have a good time in the best indoor show of it's kind in the Midwest.

So, any questions feel free to PM me, E-mail me at hrr32@aol.com or call me anytime at 586 524 4198.

Thanks and I look forward to seeing a huge HAMB turnout as well.

    Rudy.

Cool. I was just talking about it with 62wagon because I was thinking of putting the sedan in if we needed more cars to keep out some tuners. He told me you had a lot more cars than last year already too. I'm glad cause I didn't want to freeze my *** of driving it down.

You could just borrow the trailer that Jusjunk is renting to haul his '32 down.;) :D

  4. Well there won't be any turf wars witht he tuners:D

But I would like new cars that haven't been seen before. And once you are there you know you will have the time of your life. Everyone should do the Autorama at least once.

I gotta get some pics so I can give everybody an update but I can tell ya that the mechanical is neerly done and soon its time to start the body work and paint. (just in case I get the call!!)

  13. The main roads are never imp***able, but I won't guarntee you won't get the car full of salt and dirt this time of year, last year the guys from Cinci left the salt spray on one half of each car, it was cool, but there is a place to clean the car up if you decide to bring it, but don't wait too long to enter, belive me when I say there will be more cars entering than spots this year.

Actually thanks to Bobk I shouldn't have to sleep in the van.

    -cant wait for the show-

Littleman and I will be selling cheap watches and pinstriping shoes at the escalator... I think Bob Bleed will be selling anchor sharpie tats this year at half price-

It could also be 70 degrees and sunshine. March is a ****shoot in Michigan just like all the other midwestern states. It is a week later then last year if that matters.:D

The roads are the same all year round, ****. Have a good navigator and you should do fine dodging potholes. I will be more then pleased to offer my navigating skills.

I will be there as usual.
My bus fair last year was subsidized by a generous donation of 1 canadian quarter from fellow canadian Tuck. :D Hope to see the '34 there.

  22. I will be honest with you, they will be looked at very closely this year, there were some comments made last year by the higher ups about some cars that were way too unfinished.

Send or email a pic if you want, we can have a look.

But all cars will be considered thats for sure, hey the Ionia hotrod car was unfinished last year and it was the hit of the show, so you just never no, and can't say absolutely no way to unfinished cars, can we:D

Ok Rudy, after talking to ya on the email last night, I am going to go ahead and send an application. Hopefully the truck will be ok as an "under construction" vehicle.

I sent my form in December so hopefully it made it there by now. I am wrenching and grinding every minute I can on my 38 ford truck. The truck will make it to the Autorama even if it almost kills me. Progress post coming soon...

Not to split hairs here, but strictly in the interest of spelling, they are:

    Twistin' Tarantulas (www.twistintarantulas.com)

    and The Volcanos (http://www.myspace.com/thevolcanos).

This year promises to be the best yet, I can't hardly wait!
