Ummm...actually it's right on par with, say...a 'street rod themed S10 mini-truck'...except that the S10 is a little nicer!!! :D

The car says "P-32" on it...and looks like it was done in poor lighting under the gun. I guess he kept chopping up front tires so he had to leave the propeller off????

It needs machine guns, little wings and a bubble canopy!!! :D

Pretty good time. Unloaded the Beater from the (uggh!) trailer after shoveling 2 inches of snow out and did a 3 gear burnout. Felt good after fightin' crappy weather and crappy traffic. See ya later.

Thats for the compliments sweetie. I sure wished you lived closer, you have all the cookies you could possibly want. If you hopped on a plane right now you could be here for the 3pm meet and greet where there will be a HUGE tupperware full.....just like yesterday and just like tomorrow.;)

I glad you don't have purple shag fur cuz it's really not my style:D

a little snack pak I made for Steve Tracy, owner of Advance Plating. Since he's working his booth all weekend and can't come downstairs I thought I'd take him some. Sure wish you were here I'd personally deliever yours as well.

  7. Dave Shuten, the guy that finished the Mysterion (nice guy, by the way) was striping the Lunar Lander, he also did some stuff on DirtyT's Chebby... have more, but they are mostly detail shots for myself and doubles of Beatniks pics.

I'm being picked up in 45 minutes, so I gotta go... Save me a cookie!!!

I have been staring at Chip's nose and I think it turned out about as nice as you could expect. I'm curious to see how he paints it. And I would have rounded the splash pan in the grille to more closely match a P-40, not straight across like a Deuce. Neat car so far. I love Zephyr dashes. The exhaust rules.

Cool to see the Roth cars. That is amazing.

I want to see some pics of Azreal with Ms Peak at the Peak booth. :)

    Keep the pics coming? Please?

I want to see pics of Chip's steering arrangement. Looks to be two rear facing tie rods. I imagine they must go to a central bell crank, or?! I can't wait to see this'un up close some time.

If someone is at the show and runs into Foose, will you find out if he drives that thing on the street with the floor all opened up like that, or is it just a show car?

    Very cool pictures!

I agree that the nose cone looked weird to me at first and then I "got it" saying, Oh... he's going for the airplane look. Well, it's obviously not finished yet. Maybe something is still to come.

But what did strike me is that he puts an unusual pointy disk on the front of his car and everyone says, "WHOA!!! SO CRAZY!!!"

And then I scroll down to Roth's cars that look (yes cool but) like McDonald's playland fixtures and everyone says "How cool!!"

Um.... why you being so hard on the airplane car???

    I don't think he's done yet....

But I do agree with the "ugly" nose comments.... everything else about it seems cool, especially the exhaust...

Thanks for all the pics guys, it's looking like a good time for sure...

I wouldn't recommend Foose's steering arrangement to anyone actually intending to drive their car. A tie rod has a purpose. Some tractors run that arrangement but tracking isn't so important with tractors. I think with such a setup the wheels will flutter which is dangerous at speed.

It's really just the cone that's goofy.

I like the shape of the grille and hood. The transmission is wacky - I've heard Bruce L. discribe it but had never seen a picture until now. The steering is kind of cool, but how did he get the hood sides on and how would they come off?

the cone may be goofy but it does have a certain riged together early lakes apeal to me. i still say ditch it but it doesnt bother me that much. more then the cone is the lack of any transfer between the round top of the grill sheel covering the cone and the bottom 3/4 of a duece shell. and to top it that aquard break in the flow is acented by it being transfered into the hood side. makes it look like a jb welded together shell and a bent up hood. granted it its not finished and im sure itll flow like water when its dont. but just some thoughts.

and of course for those guys bitchig about the cone still, just preten it realy looks like this

The exhaust tips were removable, they were incomplete and held to the header with clecos..

    Denise,
Thanks for the "cookies". I'll consider that I "received" my cookie until I get to meet you in person some year. Dragging me out of the AZ warmth to MI cold is difficult if not impossible. I'd love to come see you all and the cars, especially Aaron's Lander, but work and the "honey do" list prevent such excursions. My wife Beverly and I are turning over the garden tomorrow. The F1 has to wait. My kids indoctrinated me with Sesame Street, so Cookie Monster and his shaggy fur creep out occasionally.

On Chip's roadster. All the comments are appropriate. After I posted I saw the pic with the P-32. Its a neat car, to each his own and I do want to see it finished. I too would be leery of the steering arrangement.

  24. It is really amazing what's being built now. Compared to the traditional movement of just four years ago, we've come a long way. Some of this stuff is seriously amazing.

    Cartoons come to life. Inspiring.

The Lunar Lander, Moriarty's fleet, the BSM gasser look, Death's Doorstep, that little Chevy roadster, Chip's car, etc.... All totally over the top and unbelievable.

Awesome. All of 'em. Just flat-out awesome.

The dash is 1938 Lincoln Zephyr.

Here's a link to the build up on Street Rodder. http://www.streetrodderweb.com/features/0511sr_foose/

He's using a '39 Lincoln Trans. It looks like Zephyr's did that "shifter offset" thing from the factory. Check out the left side of the console in this stock Zephyr.

FWIW, I don't really like Roth's stuff either. But, this being the HAMB, I try to keep that to myself.
