I think that P-32 thing is badass. Of course, my favorite plane of all time is the P-40, so maybe I'm biased. Chip has a great eye. The scoop and "large" mouth indicate a P-40E or later. The only P-40 that had a bubble canopy was the experimental P-40Q. Hell, I hope it gets an AVG shark paint job to really piss you guys off...
thanks for the sneek peek. now i am not going to be able to sleep tonight with the anticipation of going to the show tomorrow. see you all late morning to early afternoon.
I spent quite a while in the Air Force, flying on an AC-130A Gunship (Spectre) crew. In the summers here in the states, we did a lot of airshow static displays. Twice while we were places with the Confederate Air Force I got to ride in the back seat (old radio rack) of P-51 Mustangs. I lifted off at Trenton, Ontario one Sunday morning, when the gear were up, my pilot kept her straight and level till we were over the overrun and then pulled the stick back till we were climbing verticle......................what a kick in the ass!
Between Littleman & Plowboy...They never cease to amaze me...I cant wait to see those 2 in person plus give him a hug!..lol I will be leaving later tonight and arriving there sometime tomorrow morning! See you there!
Seeing as its a two-place I'm thinking he was after the look of a TP 40N model AVG had their reunion here couple of years ago and Kermit strapped Tex Hill in the back of this one for some "stick time". Nothing cooler than watching him take 60 yrs. off these old fighter jocks.
Cool. I want to make it to the Fly-In at Heritage Park to meet those guys this year, but I'll be in Mexico that week. They are my heroes. http://www.heritageairpark.com/flyin.html Sorry for the OT everyone...
Those Foose roadster pics are like slowly panning up the bikini-clad body of the hottest chick ever, and suddenly realizing she's got basketball-sized neck goiter.
http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=167346&d=1141354925 Testify brother!! That is one righteous truck.
hey someone go and get some pics of the cars downstairs. Bobbleed, Tuck, Cheaterchris, Mike, Johnnycola, and Scratch are all there. Go and get a peak at what they brought. I wish I was there but only can live through you guys this year. Jack
LOL!!!!!! Also, who owns this gasser Ford? I need to get some info on the red windows. Exactly what I was going to put in my '56.
Is this car running a Chevy or GMC inline six in it?? If so, Can someone take more pics of this and ask him or her (the owner) what tranny and rear they are using and let me know? thanks much guys!!! Jason
Yeah, that...It could definitely be a little smoother, if it had to stay . Over all, very nice though. The exhaust is amazing. Good details.
If that is the car I think it is...it's acetate (sp?) over the original ford glass. Great car though... Is that 1949 or 1950 Mopar coupe the original wacky drag car that I've come to know and love or is it a replica?
I saw some build up photos of "The High and Mighty" in a Mopar mag. It is a copy of the original built by some guy's Mopar factory guy's. There was a great write up about the trouble they went too, to get all the detail's right. CBB
there was an artical about this in a mag has a bunch of pictures with it and the story of the (original) car and the story behind it. If i remember right the guys that built it were the guys that went on to be the Ramchargers. I dont think that i would be able to find the mag back though (im not very orginized) but maybe someone is and can help you out.
