Working on my chassie now for a 28/29 Model A coupe with an A frame. I have been looking for 32 pedals but have not been able to find any at a reasonable price. I understand 39 pedals will work almost as well as the 32's. What do you think? I will be using a 53 Merc Flatty with 39 tranny. I also could use a 351W or 289 with a top loader, but prefer the flathead option first. What have you used for pedals? Any photos would be great.
What's your timeline for the pedals? Do you need them yesterday or can you wait a couple of months while you collect other pieces and organize your project? Here's why I ask: I made patterns for a Deuce pedal box for Vern Tardel awhile back and it's about to go into "production." The box is designed to fit original Deuce K-members as well as the Tardel repro K-members for the Deuce chassiis as well as one carved down to fit a Model A frame. Also, repro Deuce pedals are about to be cast by another source, and these will fit the Tardel pedal box as well as the original pedal box. So, if you have some time before you need all these pieces, Tardel just might be able to help you out. Here's a picture of the Tardel K-member we've been working on for several years and Vern has finally brought to market.
A couple of months would be fine for the pedals. Any idea of cost for the pedals and Tardels K member? I assume the K member as produced has been whittled down to fit a V8 in A frame as your book shows, is this correct? Thanks for the tip!
Don't know the price of the pedal box at this time, but the K-member sized for a Model A frame is $425, including the wishbone cap and shipping.
The model A frame being only 4 in. deep verses 6 in on the duce, is the K member for the A sized accordingly?
Thats a good looking x-member. I'm looking forward to seeing the pedal assy you're talking about. I have a deuce frame with the origanal x-member, but no cluch and brake assy. I want to run a flathead and 39box. So I'm looking for the perfect setup. It's not like Tardel's hasn't done a few
