Aside from the usual F-1 steering, and F-1 brakes, what parts have you found fit nicely in a traditional Av8? Who is still using a stock Model A steering box and column? Any other steering boxes one wouldn't expect to see? For example I've read that Chevy AD pickup steering boxes work good. Spindles? Brakes? Just looking for parts that are "out of the norm" that have been proven to work.
Early Dodge pickup upper shock mounts, like F1's but just different enough. I get a kick out of repurposing bracketry/castoffs/etc for other uses in a build. Like using cut off ends of split bones or radius rods for lower rear shock mounts and the like...
On my last truck build I used a Ross steering box from a Willys Jeep. Flipped it upside down and ran is as a cowl steering setup. It worked out really well. One thing though, make sure you fill it with grease and not oil. Otherwise your legs get covered in gear oil...
