The Art of Speed show will be dedicated this year in Paul's memory. Both Chuck Vranas and Mark aka "General Gow" have submissions dedicated to Paul.

Wow, I just found out. Paul was one of the nicest Hot Rodders that I have ever had the pleasure to meet. He will be sadly missed......RIP brother.

    Damn. Sad, sad news.

I found out on Friday morning that we had lost Paul, this is the first time that I'm back at a computer since then.

Paul was absolutely a true hot rodder, one of the finest human beings and one of coolest guys that I've known. I feel honored that I can call him a freind. I first met Paul about eight years ago on one of his numerous trips out here to Arizona. From the get go I felt as if I had known him for years. I always looked forward to his visits here to Arizona and every time I hung out with him at Bonneville was a highlight.

After a long day on that salt, having beer with Paul on a warm night at Wendover in the parking lot of the Stateline, surounded by bitchin' hot rods and gearheads from around the world, man, that's hard to beat.

Paul's passing is a terrible loss to all who new him, to hot rodding and to the world in general. I will miss him dearly.

    Holy crap!
I just talked to him at GNRS! Never met him before, he was over looking at my car & asking questions. Seemed like great guy. I went over to see his car & knew it looked famaliar, never put 2 & 2 together.

These were taken Sunday at GNRS, before the skys opened up.
What a nice guy. This saddens me. :(

after an earlier trip left the roadster stranded in arizona with a blown engine, paul and marge drove back out with his trailer in tow carrying a replacement engine. he wanted to get it all back together in time for GNRS and he did. your pics, steve, are the first i have seen with his 'bench motor', so called because it sat under his workbench in his shop. he always said, "you never know when you'll need a spare flathead." even his spare looks great in that engine bay. like it was made for it.

I will always remember racing down at Round Hill and then going for huge prime ribs at Magoni's in Somerset. My prayers are with you. Kat

This is really sad news - :-(
I've been studying Paul's roadster for cues on how it should be done when I build mine.
Looking through the photos on his online album is going to be a whole new experience now. He always looked like a good guy and I'm sorry I wont get a chance to get to know him in person.
    Rest in Peace, Paul.

    Hi All,
Just want to give you all an update on Paul Howard our beloved friend. Starting sometime tomorrow Bruce Ham from AZ and Eddie Bromley from MA, two of Paul's good freinds will be driving Paul's truck pulling the trailer that will be carrying his roadster. This will be a hard trip for the guys as they will be bringing their best friend and his roadster home to Marge and thier family. Please keep Bruce and Eddie in your prayers for a safe trip across the country to bring this all home to the Howard family.

i was just going through all my business cards in my wallet yesterday and i came across paul's card he gave me the day i met him, it says "if it's too loud, you're too old!" across the top, with his roadster at bonneville in the middle and his contact info at the bottom. i remember the first time i met him he was a stand up guy, and as others had said, you felt like you had known him forever when you talked to him, and would go out of his way to say hi, even if he was surrounded by folks talking to him about his car, he was a one of a kind person and he's definitely missed.

    RIP paul
