Its been 3yrs since any new posts from my dads build. Since then all mechanicals have been rebuilt. An original cuver city halibrand was found and rebuilt. Right now the deck lid is being reskined and then we are thinking paint will be an original taupe model A color. I will get more pictures soon.

Took a few pictures of my dads roadster project. He was going like gangbusters for awhile but its been sitting for a few months now, he needs a kick start to get going again.

Thom's car is at my shop now. I will be doing all of the final fine tuning of the body to get it ready for paint. Stay tuned for the updates.

The T-strips on the quarter panels were sticking up nearly a quarter inch in some areas, so I took them out and reshaped them. I also trimmed the top of the T-strip on the daisy panel and closed the gap between the daisy panel and the quarter panel.

I straightened out the daisy panel. When I started it had a crease in the center 3/8 inch high. I also added curve to the tail panel so that it would match the curve of the quarter panels.

The inner trunk lid was a bit on the rusty side but I fixed it one patch at a time. I then PORed the inner and the inside of the skin before joining the two together.

I had to split the decklid on both sides to improve the gaps. I also had to add a piece to the lower edge of the lid to close a gap

I took the body off the frame and made some patches to get rid of the gaps between the fingers on the bottom of the quarters. I then primed the bottom of the car, seam sealed and undercoated it.

I bent up some brake lines for the front. They run under the engine mounts and across the back of the K-member.

I put the engine in and threw together an exhaust system from the headers back to the rear.

I built up the top front edge of the passenger door and the lower front edge to close some gaps. I also straightened out the door skin.

The drivers door took some tweaking and I built up some edges. I also made a patch for the bottom of the door and installed it

I chopped the windshield posts half an inch to drop the frame down a bit to set against the cowl lip. I also patched rust on the seal channels inside the windshield posts

I PORed the inside of the body and seam sealed. I also straightened out the grille shell and filled the holes in it.

Nothing better than a '28-'29 roadster on '32 rails! A fine example!

Sure has come a long way from being an old cut up roadster body and deuce frame loaded into a back of a pick up 25 years ago.

Well we are having our yearly indoor car show and my pops was asked if he would put his roadster in the Kell Kustom booth. Kellan is the young man that has brought the old roadster body back from the dead. heres a few pictures. DSC02850.JPG DSC02852.JPG DSC02847.JPG DSC02849.JPG

The car looked great in the Kell Kustom booth next to the dragster. I would just like to thank Thom for letting me use the car for advertising.

Since my pops is hamb challenged I will post a few pictures or his project. His first choice of color has going to be black but a few of us talked him into something different. We live in the 2nd biggest city in South Dakota, Rapid City (70,000 people), so its small population wise. I know of 4 A V8's in this area two are black one wants to paint theres black and then my pops. We decided on a stock 31 Model A color called Chickel. I think its going to be Killer looking IMG_0267_2.jpg IMG_0268.JPG
