av8 steering box?

    i was i litle bit curiouse about what type of steering box this car might be using? vw bus? or a more traditional earlt ford box? if so what year of box? thanks for any help

    It looks like the worm is on top like a 32-34 or F-100. It is not because the arm goes up. My guess is that it is a 37-48 p***. or a reversed F-1 box. A new flange would have to be be made for the 37-48. It could also some later cross steer box that has been modified to mount with a flange.

    ya the fact that the pitment arm is facing up, not down like an f100 usualy would is what threw me off

    That is Jack Underwood.
    The steering box is a reversed 1932.

    well, it looks to have the standard 3-bolt mounting of an F1 box that may have been flipped. the heim joint is strange though. maybe it's for using a standard tie rod instead of a ball end like F1 pitman arms usually have?
    it's a beautiful car, though. those divcos even have the dimple!
