Art & Inspiration AVATAR CURIOSITIES

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Feb 24, 2024.

  1. In days of yore I was very involved with sailing. Cars were always around and I always knew I’d build a car one day. That day came when I got old, moved inland and sold the boat. In my sailing days my nickname was “Seadog” hence my HAMB handle today. The avatar photo is a picture I got off the internet.

I was a physical security MP at an Army special weapons depot in the early '70's. Don't glow in the dark yet but I'm sure it's coming.

Now for some reason I can't get the movie Dr. Strangelove, or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb out of my head. Especially near the end with Slim Pickens riding a bomb down! Thanks!

neither car is mine (nor was). I just like their looks in front of my house about 2004. the cars belonged to two guys that came to look at my 41 de soto which is now long gone.

I've tried to change mine a couple times but it always pops up and said my pixel is to big. That's what she said!

  11. My avatar started as an under construction photo of my first hot rod – the one I still own. I PhotoShopped the background out, added the blue with the white glow and my club logo to the bustle. I think it's the only one I've ever used since joining in March of 2006. Folks have asked why I don't change it to a more recent photo of the car, or maybe my F100, but I like that the image is tied to the time I signed up and I think at a glance, most folks recognize it.

  12. Picture of the "clean" end of the shop. Not much progress on either one.

Mine is a pic of the rear wheel of the T bucket I built 20 years ago. It was stored in my basement at the time I joined the Hamb. I should probably change it one day.

I was an owner operator in over the road trucking for 28 years and from Minnesota all my life. My CB handle was Minnesota Mad Man. The 1693 comes from the Caterpillar Diesel Series 1693 truck engine my all time fave.
