Just thought I would put this up before you changed the avatar. This is my 56 after some fool pulled in front of me from a dead stop and I was doing 50 mph. I swerved to avoid him and hit a block wall, he kept going. Still not on the road, waiting for money.
I feel your pain! Hope you are OK,hitting anything brick not good. I ran into a brick building thanks to a red light runner many years ago in a company truck at 25 MPH and was out of work for over three months with blackouts from a concussion and had to go bankrupt to get back on my feet.
used to live in rialto in early 80's stig, and there were some crazy drivers then. and that was before cell phones etc etc.
OUCH!! As much as it ****s to see your ride like that, the important thing is that you're alright (aside from a few bumps and bruises I'm sure).
This happened about 6 years ago. I went to the hospital to be checked out but I didn't break anything on me, bent the steering wheel, drivers door, dash and cracked the windshield, all with my body (no seat belts). No info on the guy that pulled in front of me, it had just gotten dark, all I know is it was a white utility truck with some burgundy paint on the p***enger side. I always think of a bald guy with a comb-over in the wind when I see the hood setting like this. Yeah, my Vicky has seat belts.
The hood does have that comb over look. Also that rear fender must have been jolted so hard all the paint fell right off.
I found out that if you lose the tread on a rear tire, it will beat the snot out of the fender before it finally lets go.
Damn ! That hurt ! Glad you made out OK . That's what really matters anyway ! The truck can be fixed . A guy cut my wife & me off and ran us off the road and hit a concrete pad and tore the alum oil pan out of her car . ******* kept going too ! Cost me $750 . I had a $500 deductible so it wasn't worth claiming for the $250 . They would have raised the insurance and would have cost me more in the long run . So why do we pay for insurance when they will raise it even if it's not your fault ! Jim
