Wouldn't it be neat to find a pair of sbc heads stamped Jenkins Competition.

Tony..do you remember what numbers your heads had stamped into them? The running tally, plus the year makes more sense. I know tbe ones I sold you years ago were 1966 or 1967 heads..so the number should be lower the older they are.

The rust is California red dust...I was thinking of reverse electrolysis or something similarly mild. There is the recipe for evaporust type stuff online..might try that as well.

I'll have a look tomorrow and report what I find out. It'd be great if they were screw in studs. In thinking about it more..it would seem odd that they would port them and looks like install springs and aluminum retainers and not touch the studs.

It does have some writing on the side. Looks like Champ and 1 5/16 posi on them..

  9. Ron, the earlier set is 36767 and has pinned studs. The other pair has screw in studs with the integral nut but no guide plates those are 49668 which were a bit earlier than your "new" pair.

I'd love to see one run over a flow bench and charted out, just so the information would be available.

Well, thanks. I don't remember seeing any stamped names or #s on them. These could've been done as early as ~'55, I don't remember the casting #s either. Just an interesting set of heads.

Here are a few more pics...looks like the studs were replaced. Did they do stainless valves? Can't imagine they'd be that shiny if they weren't stainless?
