  2. If I was in CA, I'd definitely use 296V8 because shipping or parts running would be a whole lot cheaper. I haven't met Greg, but he knows his craft very well and will do a good job and call it how it is if a wear or bend problem is present. Search his info posts on axle ID and info.
    If I was on the east side of the Rockies, Okie Joe would be a good choice. I have met the man and know he does good work.
    Spend time and money wisely. Some stuff can be done at home, some stuff needs to be farmed out to the folks that have the tools, experience, knowledge to do it exactly right. Some stuff needs to be done EXACTLY right, down to the NUT CUTTIN'! Pick who you want with the taffy pull or the knife.

    Greg I use Kiwi Shipping to ship my dropped axles. They usually charge me $50 to ship.

    there are many people shipping cars and parts into Australia I ship parts to a address in CA and then wait for the parts to arrive,as you say there is no other way unless you pay big $ . I am fitting the axle this week . David
