Do you know for a fact it is not the original Hudson rear end? Whatever it is, it's fairly old as the pinion appears to be on the centerline of the axle, not lowered as in later 'hypoid' style.

At first, I thought Mopar, because of the 4 bolt driveshaft flange, but the 4 wheel lugs threw me.....but it appears there may be an adapter sandwiched in between the wheel and hub ????

Yep some of the 30's Hudsons were 4 lug and they used tapered axles like early Ford . So stock it is.

Big thanks Elpolacko and all. Ill be off to find something a bit later with a better ratio now

  6. That IS the original '35 diff and axle assembly. Attaching photo of my '34 Terraplane axle taken while up on a lift. These cars all had 4.10 ratios in them and no CWP option. However the Railton Owner's club did make new 3.50 CWP sets and they were sold through that club. With luck you may still find one.

    Also sending you a PM.
