  4. I think a model car company should make a detailed model of Jack's car, what do ya think Palle?

Totally agree Craig... Revell has a good base already... Its not a very accurate kit with a lot of errors, and long doors, but a good model car builder could turn it into Jacks Ford with not to much trouble. The Studebaker bumpers might cause some trouble, but most of the rest can be scratch built or found in other kits.

  6. Thanks Rik.....I haven't seen this one....I've been away from the little cars for a while.
Revell did my son Gary's 48 Woodie "LOG RIDE" several years ago.

Excellent choices and work on this old custom. Cleaning the car up and fixing questionable work in some area's is a good thing. Updates that can't be seen is the best route to take for safety and improving the car. Continue the excellent work, I'll be watching this thread. :D

The restoration project is progressing very well. Great work.

Thanks to this site and Rik, I was able to reconnect with Bob Drake, a former owner of this car. It's been twenty years since I last talked to Bob but thanks to the post and Rik, I was able to visit with an old friend today.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

And not only does he have a specific piece of custom history In his garage, he ownes a custom car, of a model so well known that, that people don't use it's full name; Lo and behold; the Ayala-Barris built Jack Stewart coupe and a 50 merc!!!!
    I'm In awe!

Det ville betyde meget for mig hvis jeg en dag må komme op og se den!

When reading this i had to go li' down, the blood ran so quick out of my head, I got dizy!
Would you belive the car went half way around the world and ented up less then one hour drive from my house, so unbelivable!!

    still cooking!

we are still working on the car everyday! its small bits but time consuming!
the body has been on the frame several time, and fits nicely!
the engine and trans wasnt that easy.
I made an adapter and used the Ford Clutch and flywheel!

the next issue was that the size of the flywheel didnt fit the big caddy engine. so to make the starter fit..some work was needed!

    caddy wheel
    [IMG]

    now fits the Ford perfectly

locked with some spotwelds..Victor helping dad in the shop!

i know..i changed style..i am going to run the stock exhaust..the ones i started, looked to hot roddish! and i need my Cyclones for another project! so these nice looking Edmunds is cleaned, and restored.

so the next is to put the body back, for the last time!

    more soon! thanks for looking!

    okay fellas..take a look here!
today i received a package, from the state of Ohio!
when Rik and i visited Sally and Jim street, Jim told me that he had the Original
KUSTOMS LOS ANGELES plague, that was on the car when he bought it!..he also told me that he wanted to hand it over to me..he just didnt know exactly where it was!

i talked to Jim several times after the visit, and someday he finally told me he found it!

but today was the day..Sally send me a UPS tracking number wednesday..and here it is!

this is fantastic to be able to reunite this unique piece with the car, after 60 years..

do i feel lucky!!??..just had Jim on the phone, and i tryed to explain to him how very speciel this is to me! i dont think i can!
    thanks Sally and Jim!
