I need some sheet metal, is there a good steel yard that can even cut it for me, they need to be relativly cheap? All I need are some rectangles for the sides and back for my A project. Whats better for body panels, 16 or 18ga? Thanks guys.

If you are going to make your own patch panels out of sheet metal, why wouldn't you just buy the patch panels?

They are $20 - $40 a PAIR for the sides and the rear body patch panel is about $25......

You would probably pay close to that for a sheet metal place to cut you a piece.

Now if you are just re-enforcing the inside or making interior panels, that's a different story. You did say body panels though.

Yes i need to make the body panels, after closer inspection today I need to build new body sides and back(it'll be a rpu when done)I'm going to start with flat sides and add the old body lines to them. Who sells the patch panels(I may need them for my cowl)?

Interstate Steel is on 11th Avenue and Hatcher, friendly folks and the place is very clean and organized for a steel yard. Pricing is very good too.
